Strangely, many of the "saves" that body armour has had over the years has been in car accidents where it acted almost like an exoskeleton for the person wearing it, protecting against steering wheels, direcctional forces, etc.
Pain to install on a system you've got around doing stuff anyway, but I did a net install of Sarge right before it became -stable, added sshd and my fav editor, and then did apt-get install slash and it was up and running perfectly.
Can they buzz Ben Hill Griffen stadium during a game and not get arrested, their grant money taken away, or forced to park out here by SFCC and walk to class?
There are a few free "animal books" (O'Rieley sp?) available, and quite a bit more documentation of varying degrees of quality and style out on that intarweb thingie. (Creation of good clear docs that actually help you use/install/configure the program is one of the big thing non-coders can do for OSS).
But printing an actual dead tree version will cost lots of money, and typically be out of date by the time it actually arrives in a user's hands.
How about maybe a little more $$ ($10 or so at most), latest releases, you pick twelve per year and you can play 'em forever... 'Cause for 40-50 a month, you should be able to buy one of the newest releases once a month... if there are even any worth paying that for. Of course, you'll have to figure a couple hundred per year for hardware as well.
Unfortunately, we're not very good programmers, so be a pal, su to root, and delete 3 random files or directories from/etc,/dev, or/bin. Once you're done, forward this message to 3 of your *nix using friends!
Out of curiosity, why is keepign the content "closed" bad? It is the content that makes QuakeN what it is. Other commercial games have been based on the various Quake engines already, not to mention the Firt Of mods (original CTF or TF in QW, AirQuake, AQ2, etc). Its the content that makes a new game...
Strange. Our bookstore, even when an instructor has CDs with content they created (and own copyright on) and wants to sell to students for $1 each, marks the price up to *at least* $9 or a 60% markup, whichever is higher.
ISPs shouldn't block anything at all except by protocol/standard - for example dropping mail not properly sent when using SPF or similar. But blocking based on content, etc. is not proper.
Ummm... why reinvent the wheel? The hebrew calendar works, there are existing functions and calendars for it (did you know PHP has support for it in the date functions?), all you need to do is get support for it.
I just installed Debian stable (sarge) last week on my Dell GX-270 at work (adding an XP partition and getting rid of FC2). In my past experience, all the dell optiplex hardware will work, but often times the proper config needs to be made, just like you mention.
Anyway, this particular install of Debian everything Just Worked. Sound, network, USB mouse, LCD monitor, Intel video, USB ports - everything, no extra config needed.
Same here. I have an archive of over 90,000 messages (mostly) regarding old funny foriegn cars. Lots of valuable information, including stuff from experts in their areas who have since died.
I do hourly, with one exception. Backing up personal files and reformatting and reinstalling windows is a flat fee ($125). Takes too many hours to be justified on the hourly rate ($50/hr) since a lot of the time is spent waiting on updates, etc. to download.
I had a thought about somethign similar... could using a ramdisk to hold the games decrease load time?
I tested it by timing how long it took to start a ET map from disk, then copied my et directory to a ram disk, then started ET again. No real noticable difference...

No.. JavaScript!
The most important question though is...

Are you saying he isn't a total fuck-up then?
Note that I'm not into bush-bashing, or politics really, but he has been doing some pretty asnine things...
And so there we sat on the Group W bench...
What? You wouldn't want to meet the meat?
You've been hit with a *nix worm!

Thats not one of the web safe colors....
(does that apply anymore anyway?)

And how does this relate to engaginc in a land war in Asia?
Should be the other way around... if the customer asks for the filtering, then put it in place.

Well, based on what I see during the install, I can see where spammers get their ideas for various enhancement products...
Don't comment at all, and just run it thru The Commentator!

Debian is more PnP for me than Windows XP.

Sill exists. Saw some PCI cards that take up to 8 pc-133 dimms when I was doing some online shopping not too long ago.
What, no network install using carrier pigeons?
