Running around knocking up "girls" without any intention of maintaining them is just as destructive as thieving and pillaging. I would be very happy if my son was at home playing video games instead of playing games on the girls on my street.
Plume/Penguin didn't want to do anything when it as "just" KatieT's lawyer. Now that the book got/.ed at Amazon, which would then affect P/P wallets, they change the name. Too bad it had to take getting an additional thrd-paty (Amazon) involved to get them to do the right thing.
Blame your "consumers"? They're the one's who are downloading the illegal content. They're the one's that think that "Windows 2004 XP.exe" is real software. And since it's P2P, they're the ones hosting it so that more "consumers" can download it.
Oh, and by the way, the term isn't "consumers". It's "constituents". As in the ones who are going to vote you out of office for then blaming us for what's really the MPAA and RIAA fault.
With all these people claiming that their first hit doesn't work, but subsequent hits do, could Microsoft be building their search with our queries?
Tha more you make a request for a specific topic, the more results it feels that ineeds to find. The less important (queried) results don't show any results initially.

A week later a local company begins producing lemonade and giving it away for free charging only for the cost of distribution and the container (a cup, glass, mug, whatever).
Linux is more like taking limes and making a drink out of that. It makes the same drink, but its a different "flavour".
MS has a reputation for rushing stuff out the door and for selling borken software, but the fact is that most of their stuff was "good enough" where it counted. Then over time they hack away and hack away until they mostly get it right.
Other software companies could learn for them on this strategy although perhaps things are a bit different today.

Must be different enough for your consulting company at least =)
Austrailia terrifies the hell out of me. Not only for its modern animal nightmares, but the fact that Aboriginees also had to deal with marsupial cats, descendants to the saber tooth tiger!
