I know that kids should be able to understand no means no, and just because you're in a toystore, doesn't mean that you're getting a toy. But that isn't in general the way things work for most kids. Parents bring their kids to walmart because they have lots of different things to buy. TRU is kind of a specialty shop that you don't go to unless you specificly need an item and they have the best price. Which isn't very often.

I think Noscript would be nice too, for those really annoying ones that show up and move around over the content you are viewing. But I don't use it because there are enough sites out there that need javascript to function correctly, such that it would be annoying to have to enable it for every new site I went to. The thing that I find blocks the most annoying stuff is firefox's built in pop-up blocker.

Remember the whole centrino pitch by intel, that was supposed to disconnect you, so you wouldn't have to be tethered down by wires. I don't think that's happened yet. This is what I don't get about MS. Every time they come out with a new OS, they block off a large segment of the market because of very high minimum requirements. There's no reason that they couldn't make windows XP run well on slower computers. Just tone down the eye-candy, and cut down on some things you don't really need. Even the current version of Linux will run on a 486. You just cut out the things you don't need. When you look at it, windows XP doesn't really offer anything new over windows 95. A new version of IE, flashy new version of media player, and support for new technologies. But none of these things really require that it won't run on old machines. Since microsoft doesn't sell PCs, doesn't it make sense that they sell a product that works on as many PCs as possible, instead of working only on PCs made in the last 2 years?
