    Probably not a lower price tag at all. Since the drives are built into the machines, it would mean that Apple would have to produce a third version of each iBook, and one that would be in very low demand.

    We're talking HIGHER price tag for that, not lower. Cost of a product is a lot more than just the sum of the values/costs of the parts.

    See, for me, it's PC desktop, Mac laptop.

    PC desktop for games and endless fun with new Linux distros. Mac laptop for a laptop that will Always Just Work (tm), and be nice and easy to use.

    Not really.

    Anyone that isn't willing to spend $150 or less on an Xbox isn't going to be spending $300-some on an Xbox 2 just to get to play Xbox games.

    Backwards compatability is the most "overhyped" feature on earth. A nice bonus, but little more.

    making a stand-alone demo takes time away from the making of a game.

    On games like Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 and Doom 3, they've taken long enough to make them, I don't want to wait another month or two for the dev to "rope off" an area of the game for the demo.

    Perhaps finding something better to do with your life than waiting endlessly for games, and eating up every little dropping that comes out about them.

    I can honestly say I've completely ignored Halo 2 until right about now, just before release. The end result? You're frazzled over waiting and waiting. I did something better with my time. And yet, we get to play the game at the same time.

    That's the official line. What I've heard is that people are afraid to vote, as they expect to be killed for cooperating with the americans, Opium production is something like 70% of the world supply, and the fundie religous types (like the Taliban) are gaining power again. Call me when they're sovereign and at least halfway friendly.

    Which, of course, is completely unlike the situation BEFORE the US got there.... /sarcasm

    And yet the US is blamed for "fucking things up".
