Their latest album _The_Astonishing_ tells a story of a future time when digital music is generated by "noise machines" and mankind had forgotten what real creative music was.
I know this is first attempt for AI but I (one with pretty much zero creativity) could come up with something better than that!
Bought house 4 years ago. Replaced every other vanity light bulb in master bathroom = 5 new good brand CFLs. 3 years later, all have burned out while the 5 incandescents are still going strong. Waste of money. Same thing with outdoor CFLs that are on 3 hours per night. Incandescents outlasted those too.
The DS I still believe to be the superior gaming platform. It's got buttons and some touchscreen capabilities. The problem, for me at least, is that the games aren't really all that much better than the games on iOS but for some reason costs 30x more in some cases ($35 vs $1 games). iOS is killing Nintendo because of price and the real value of their games.
I liked ST5. The surrounding story sucked but the main story was more about the trio's (Kirk, Spock, McCoy) friendship than anything else. With that in mind, I find the movie quite enjoyable.
Actually, haven't the news agencies decided that they will declare a winner before the West Coast polls closes if one candidate is projected to have 270 EVs?
Yes, some toddlers/pre-k kids will pick up a mouse/joystick/wiimote and thrash it around because they can't quite understand what they are doing nor have the patience to figure it out. But some like mine, are able to. My kid at age 3 could play "mario" type games except the object could be to pick things up in a certain order. She can play the Wii darts game. There are games that uses a pointer so that promotes hand dexterity and writing skills. There is a whole host of educational games I believe to be very good IF the kid is able to sit down and play it. If they can't, don't let them play it as the article states. They are probably not ready and could harm them is some way.
the ratio of Xbox360 to PS3 was almost 3 to 1 world wide, now it is less then 2 to 1. hypothetically if:
xbox sales = 6 and ps3 sales = 2, then ratio of 360/ps3 = 3 to 1.
if they both sell the same amount, say 2 boxes:
xbox sales = 8 and ps3 sales = 4, the new ratios is 2 to 1.
wow...
Wii fans completely disregards graphics. That's nonsense. Why can't they see that graphics DO make a game better as well as gameplay?
I have a Sony WEGA tube tv and thought standard def programming was pretty nice and sharp. I recently, finally, got a HD signal to my tv and it does look better and I was happy with it. I didn't REALLY get excited about HD until I went to a friend's house to watch a football game in SD and was thinking, this picture is crap. It is fuzzy AND not have widescreen makes everything look cramped. That's when I started appreciating HD now.
I played the latest Metroid Prime on the Wii. I dug the control interface using the Wiimote but I can only imagine how great the game *could* be on HD.
Wii = "last-gen.5" because they would be truly next gen with HD graphics.
I do believe that the majority of albums contain 10% good songs. However, 90% of the albums *I* buy contains 90% good songs (if not, 100%) because I have explored the music world and have found *my* type of music. Instead of accepting what the record labels and radio stations deem is a good artist (when in fact, they just have a couple of good songs), I've formed my own taste in music.
And yes, I do have an elitist attitude towards music but I think it is justified because my opinions are my own and are not of the labels. I also believe I enjoy music much more than the average listener.
Sometimes though the problem is the driver of a truck with a towball *forgets* he has a towball!
I had a BMW parked in a lot and some truck decided to back into the space in front of me and rams my fender/hood with the towball. $3500 in damage...nice.
This article states 600k units shipped.
This article (from a previous story) states 1.5 million shipped worldwide. Now the 600k figure could just be domestic but I would except a higher ratio of domestic units to exports.
Friday night I experienced the same thing. All of a sudden, my CPU usage pegged at 99% and could barely do anything. Any programs/windows I launched either took a very long time to execute, if at all. It took me a while to figure out what went wrong. After messing around with the services (services.msc), I figured out it was pc-cillin. I just disabled all of the services associated with the program and rebooted. Everything came up fine afterwards and I just did a uninstall/reinstall and now my machine is happily chugging along!
Regular Scrabble bores me...

...but Speed Scrabble rocks! Never played it? Try this: 1. throw away the game board 2. turn all the tiles upside down in the middle of the table and shuffle them 3. every player picks 7 tiles 4. on "go", everyone turns over their tiles and tries to use up all the tiles on their own personal puzzle 5. when a player is able to use all of the tiles in their possession legally, he yells "go" and everyone draws two more tiles. 6. play continues until there are no more tiles and a player uses up all his tiles in his puzzle.

5 hours at 10% real time. So this was just a 30 minute skirmish.
"Siri, channel up." "Siri, channel up." "Siri, channel up." (repeat over and over) [How to surf channels in the future]

What? I'm pretty darn sure the Democrats blamed Republicans, blamed Bush, blamed big domestic oil, etc... let's at least be objective here... sheesh.
I remembering doing moves in Descent that would been impossible on a regular joystick. It was $100 though and it broke all the time too.

[1] post-xmas PS3 owners buying discs since there are no games to buy and want to justify their $600 purchase
[2] releasing more titles than HD-DVD
[3] offering buy-one-get-one free blueray titles at Best Buy in January
[4] somehow paying off Best Buy to only demo blueray
[5] ...any others?
My opinion is that BR- and HD-DVD are even at this point and Sony is actually disappointed that the PS3 didn't sell more to boost BR numbers.

This article will change your mind a little about these hybrids:
2004 Toyota Prius
Notes:
1. Average *combined* city/highway mpg is 55!
2. 0-60 in 10s! Not bad at all.
