    Yep -- Frosty-Frog 6.06LTSx64 has been without (serious) issue -- on my AMD5400 kit -- for the last year. Expect the BIRD to be a step up.

    Yep you nailed it. This "tweener" problem has been evident since REDHAT-6. I suspect it's unsolvable, since the higher-level-tools available in M$ are absent in *nix. UBUNTU is far improved from ol' frothymouth Debian and Slack. Still, go with default( my 6.06LTS is brilliant that way) or hack-the-scripts ... nothing inbetween.

Yep, I make available my "longhand" scratchsheet solutions and assign POINTS for anyone submitting a correction/improvement. Another faculty once suggested I make one-error per problem just to keep it interesting. I try not to do that .....
