    What we need is a startrek computer .exe or OS platform.

    Something thats a PIM on steroids. Something thats not OS dependant or that can hook it self to the OS infos, ie something that has it all in one spot/mirroed on a web service, which then lets outlook/isync and any app instantly hook into it.

    Why does every new app need its own data storage for this info, we need a common PIM storage/api. iSync with iBrain

    The cost of hubbles repair could have been used to build a new hubble-mark2, with better mirrors/computers etc....

    So theres no point fixing an L2 telescope, unless in future we can launch a cheapass ($30m) tug to bring it back to LEO, fix it, and ship it back. But again if its cheaper to make a new one, and launch it, you have 1 super one, and 1 old dodgy one.

    So, you loose 15% of photos, big deal, you just expose for 15% longer, or hell, 200% longer.

    Besides you build you telescopes at high altitudes, where its clear and cold.

    And compared to the cost, it'll be cheaper any way.

    Point being , just do both coz some wavelengths you just can't see on earth, like IR.

    Theyve issued >100bilion in bonds in the last 6 months ,whats another 1billion, any way, I bet they will issue another 150billion in 5/10/20 year bonds soon any way.

    Thats how they make money out of thin air.

    Damn easy, you need 100billion, just offer some bonds. Let the market trade with paper.

    Besides, take a few 100m from the farmers subsidies, that will cover it.

    Yeah like morons that like to call ::toupper() Clib functions, rather than use a macro in a loop.

    100000 calls to toupper() will thrash the stack/cache, and be way slower than a pure optimized smart macro inlined.

    No clib funcs get inlined, face it.

    No wonder some peoples code can be 50% slower but barely look any different than a good coders code.

    Things cascade , and bingo, you get an application which is 3x slower than a good implementation.

    Like someone said, software is years behind hardware engineering, perhaps more software programmers should know more about hardware.

    No wonder some hardware engineers think of software engineers like software engineers think of managers.

    Or if you know how C code gets compiled into ASM, why bother, and do it all in C code.

    Yes I started out in c-64 6510 code, and then 68000 amiga coding, then 808x CRAPOLA FROM HELL made by brain dead calculators upgrade to CPUs chips.

    The TMS RISC chip was nice, and so was 88000 by motorola which later the 880000 was merged with 68k tech to make the new funky PPC.

    AH the old days of having the raw CPU manuals with clock timings , full op code listings, each bit described, cycle timings the works.

    Hope you java coders realise theres more to that 2 byte java bytecode than one IF, its like 100 op codes of goodies, so your java will never be as fast as hardcore C/C++ gurus that can cut assem too.

    Race? well what is race, its not like its defined genetically or biologically by scientists, there is just variations in peoples color. Like doves. Now not liking a nation is 100% purely political, as that is what defines a nation, its borders controlled by government, thats not racist.

    When someone calls bush or ashcroft nazis, they dont really mean it in the exact terms, they simply mean it in the way that Hitler was REALLY HATED to the core, well so are bush/ashhy, for their 'freedom/liberty' removing ways. You dont have to be so damn tightassed and say they have to be the same, its how the name nazi evokes an emotional response to their evils.

    I think these Yale grads and political genius's know how to 'not order killings' and just setup situations where killngs/death happen easier and let others do the ordering according to guidelines/rules of law, or lack of law.

    The nasdaq corporate I worked for before were too scummy to pay $5k for google, and did ZERO advertising and 100% telesales (pukelamers). And this was for a product that a few sales would have paid for the add, and one that didnt have too much competition in a growing market.

    You dont understand, just so the manager can keep his $250k job, he has to justify it by refusing developer requests, and say, "no to points 7 thru 12". Otherwise if he agreed to it all, whats his job purpose? Any good developer can self micro manage.

    We know sun can't afford 15 machines and an auto compile script, even compilers with different system outputs.

    Seriously, I think java has those other venders under partner relationships so they 'tweak' it for those systems if they feel like it, but still, they should get of their ass, we aren't asking for 12 dvds per platform sent out to 50000000 homes like AOL.

    why do filters look at all the content, surely they can do a has on each line and then compare it and find out that, "hey, the first 90% of lines are the same, last 10% differ all the time" must be spam

    together with >3 fonts and colors and / or > 2 images attached/linked. Yep, its spam.

    This should'nt be rocket science, why are'nt really smart filters good enough to ignore the random 834723749273742s or random words at the end, or even random white spacing. A human can look at an email and instantly know if its spam, often without even reading a single word.

    with multithreading, the code wont care which cpu its on, it will just work and the OS will handle it.

    You can just split up each logic on diff threads and make sure its in sync.

    DX11 DXXI will probly do it all for you.

    If it has flash, it has to be built in, I hate the ps1/ps2 SCAMS, of cheap consoles, oh but another 30-50$ for a damn tiny memory card. A 100% scam.

    re 2. yeah like every joe has a pc thats wired w/ethernet

    but HD costs are always reducing, and they could make an empty slot so you can put in a normal HD in later. Like the ps2, but hell no one uses it coz stupid sony didnt make a standard IDE adaptor for $10 and let it just be plug/play HD addon.

    But if they can make a 1-2gig flashram for $30 then cool.

    But I think their main concern of HDs are MTBF, which is 1000x higher for HDs compared to FlashRam.

    So bulk flashram thats cheapass and 1-2gig on the motherboard would be cool. But it would make the xb1 style hacks less possible.

    Another purpose of the HD was being a disk cache so games would load way faster 2nd time round.

    You get a clue, USA pays the cheapest damn price of any nation (except iraq) for petrol.

    You guys have bigasses SUVs, which now bush gave you a tax break for business of up to $100k, so now everyone goes and buys one. Not only that, SUVs are except from emmision standards and millage standards.

    The benefits arent now for usa, they will be later once the 2nd depression hits, oil tripples in price for the whole planet (except usa) and usa can use dirt cheap $1/hr labor in iraq to pump out $100 crude for $5 each, with $95 profit, while the rest of the world (with high inflation yes it will come) will have to dig oil at $80+ raw costs with $20 profit or maybe ZERO profits.

    Thats the truth, inflation will kill the oil industry except if you have it free and have cheapass labour.

    Whos ass was saved? Only usa's , there is no loyalty to the rest of the world, aslong as usa benefits #1, if usa's friends get a 5% kickback then thats ok, but usa is #1 to usa ofcourse. But usa wont care if it makes the rest of the world even poorer as long as usa is still #1.

    Dont forget politics and war now are a longgggg 40-50 year chess game, you or I dont know all the moves or plans, neither does usas foes. And if we do decifer their shortterm goals, we can't do anything to expose em, or they don't care and will do it any way, and still be filthy assed rich.

    Face it, freedom is not what people in charge think, coz if they did, we would have zero income taxes, no illegal drugs, free education and self determined education, and a real freemarket.

    DOn't think for one moment that the people in charge will give up anything, not even your greedy ass CEO gives up his perks , so why do you think the rockerfellas and rothchilds and oil guys will give up their power.

    Welcome to the 21st century same as the 1st, we are all slaves, but getting paid enough that we think we have it all. Relatively the powers at be have 1000000x more than the common man, just like in ancient times, nothing has changed.

    Maybe things will change, ie end of myan calander etc. 2012, the fourth age of aquarius (ie like LOTR) etc...

    At least we live in interesting and potentially super uber dangerous times, 40000 nukes is something to worry about and an impending mini ice age in north america/europe.

    Stock up, mass migration like 10000s of years ago wont happen, we have super controlled borders like uber large prison cells now.

    The thing I hate with all those 'area51' ufo websites is that they never state what is 'suspicion' or 'guess work' and what is 'real investigated facts'

    Why cant they write in a style like, "Here are the facts, plain and boring, lawyer style", and now "Heres our interpretation of the facts, wild and fancy" Even if they make wierd conclusions based on weak facts, they should explain how/why they came to those conclusions.

    But whos to know if they are high school dropouts with Fs in writing, or grads in literature.

    I for one would a) make more professional websites, b) remove all 'speculation' or at least label it as such, and c) make it more sensible and seperate facts from 'we think this xyz....'

    Maybe they all want movie/book deal aspirations. Then write a damn script not silly websites.

    I have a better solution.

    Store a 1/8th thumbnail with in the jpeg JFIF file structure (use comment field) and have it encrypted too. Surely it can be preserved after photoshops loads/saves it. So then we can see visually the original.
