    do this,

    combine an intel atom mobile cpu with nvidia tegra with compatibility added to the level of xbox1 chipset, or emulate it + wmobile8.

    At the hand held size, xbox 1 (intel games) if MS tried could be made to boot and look great.

    Update the API from its 2010 expired roots, and call it xbox-portable (compatible with xb1 games) and runs Wmob8.

    Nothing to do with the Kernel. MS could release an enabler (patch) to Win7, that allows you to run Metro apps. (you can btw)

    But they wont, because Metro IS WIN8.

    You know whats the real bad thing? Cutting trees, Brazil making high ways everywhere, indonesia, burma cutting down forests.

    As long as we keep buring 90 million barrels of oil a day, (its not going to drop) then you are not going to reduce any co2, especially with india,china using more coal each year on year.

    The ONLY option is 5x increase in Nuke Plants. Nothing else has that density.

    Unless you are stuck with 32bit Windows where 3gig + a bit is all you can max, then I will max any other board/laptop up to 8 or 16g. Ram is so cheap, they should just start pre-fab motherboards with built in 8gig ram + 4 sockets. It would only add $20 cost, why isnt anyone doing that?

    So if photoshop worked well in 1999 on a 300mhz P4, then custom native libs, and gui in adk, its perfectly viable to have a good version running on a large tablet 9in +.

    Wow they will add a /start_desktop to the default shell on boot. WOW

    Hell, maybe they have two exes, explorer.exe and metro.exe , and you just have to set it to the right shell. Easy to add a gui for that, dont even have to compile C++ code, in less than 4kb of wscript code, you could probably do it.

    OT: why isnt *ALL* the windows gui aspects coded in a scripts, so its easy to update/change/fix/customize.

    every laptop, not including mini netbooks, have a DISK, and SATA DVD, which no one uses dvd any more. So if you can suffer, you can pull out the DVD, and replace that with a SSD in a dvd shapped box.

    Then you can keep your internal HD + have a cheap 64-128g SSD.
