why didn't you build one? who cares about what place they have on what stupid business list? gaming's all about the building, tweaking, and eventually upgrading for screaming speed, not pre built crap. that's why they started the upgradeable mobile gpus with these suckers, to offer at least a limited degree of diy for early adopters, of whom gamers are a considerable subset.
There's more to it than that - I'm venturing they're releasing this in hopes that people will purchase something from them, not from the local "vendor" on the corner selling XP out of the back of his autorikshaw. That way they get a little money. The Linux thing is valid, but part of a larger picture.

yep. kevin rose is an idiot. he takes other's ideas and passes them off as his own. or, he'll think he's sweet for doing something moronic. i saw one episode where they were all excited about him having a pc/mac in one case. All he did was put one of those 5.25 mini pcs in an open bay with a homebrew mac with an external kvm switch!! (I'm sure I'll get some guy here who will explain to me the necessity for that kind of setup.) and you should have seen the one where he had all these "hacking" secrets, like how to cut pages out of a book to hide floppies. and, one of his "dark tips" is how to download kazaa lite.
