    You can change the url to anything you like.

    Just do a about:config and change the keyword.URL setting.

    I set mine to http://www.google.com/search?btnG=Google+Search&q= which is a regular Google search.

    The only reason that I don't use Firebird (Mozilla is my default) is the search feature. In Mozilla, I can type an address or a term to search for in the same input box, while Firebird has a seperate, small window on the side for searches.

    I totally agee. But since it possible to install more search plugins in the search box of Firebird, I would like to see both methods implemented.

    And by the way, I wan't those search plugins installed in my profile directory!

    Until a couple of days ago MNG support was included in Mozilla, but then it was removed. See Mozilla bug 195280.

    Sure, maybe the NT4 crowd need to upgrade their servers, but since they haven't upgraded to Win2000, they are less likely to upgrade now.

    So, if I don't like someone, all I have to do is make up a few ads with his number on and stick them up places, and the state will spam him for me?

    I think this works even without the police spamming. The type of phonecalls the person would receive could be of a far more disturbing nature than police spamming.

    The problem is that gnome tries to start a new instance of mozilla instead of attaching to the existing instance.

    Although I haven't tried this myself, this seems to be what you are looking for.

    From the homepage:

    openmoz is a command line wrapper for the Mozilla web browser. Given a file name, a URL, an email address, or a keyword, openmoz will display it with Mozilla. Openmoz has options for opening new windows and tabs.

    Bugs.

    If there is a bug or a security problem in a DLL you only have to replace that DLL instead of all statically linked programs.

    Remember the problems with zlib a year ago? Would you like to replace 500 applications or one library?

    I don't know anything about IE's image behavior, but auto-sizing is quite nice. If an image is larger than your browser window the image will automatically be scaled down to fit. If you click on the image it will have its size restored.

    If you don't like the feature, you can simply turn it off in the preferences.

    I must really advice you to investigate minesweeper a bit more. In the beginning you will have to think hard before every single click, but after some time you will start seeing the patterns. It's a "Matrix" experience!

    I find it strange that there are no people talking about Avifile. It's a great movie player!

    The GUI is not the most beautiful in the world, but it has all the basic controls I need: Open, Pause, Play, Stop and a slider. It also has the option to preserve video aspect ratio when resizing.

    Finally this is a minor point but C, C++ and JAVA all have terrible terrible string manipulation. Why can't they have native to_data("Jan 1, 1983") or at least have:
    string a = string("76" + 23)// a = "7623"
    int x = int("76" + 23); // x = 99

    Wouldn't this require lazy evaluation? C, C++ and Java don't have that. In those languages "76" + 23 is evaluated first, before the casting operation is applied.

    I use my Hotmail account in the same way, only for stupid signups.

    Even though I have the Junk Mail Filter set to "Enhanced (most junk mail is caught)" only a couple of messages are sent to the Trash and 10-15 obvious spam messages are sent to the Inbox. Isn't Hotmail capable of doing any better filtering?

    I block the sender of all spam messages I get, and recently the number of spam I recieve has actually started declining. Blocking spam domains is the only way to go except using a whitelist.
