The point to modding Dreamcasts wasn't to play pirated games, it was to play imported games. The modchips for dreamcast only defeated the region protection. To play pirated games, you needed to have a bootdisc, or the pirated game had to be self bootable.
Without a mod chip, you needed to use a boot disc to play imported games, or you had to take apart your dreamcast and disconnect/reconnect the cd rom cable a few times, which was also a pain in the ass.
I got my dreamcast modded because I have a pretty extensive library of japanese and US software for the system, and I didn't much feel like having to have both systems hooked up at the same time.
You honestly think that they paid for that copy of Win2k that they used? They can't afford a decent monitor, a decent pc, or a real tv. What makes you think they can afford Win2k?
Oh that's horrible. You can't use their game console for doing anything other than playing games. That's terrible! I want a refund, especially since I just got an Xbox for free for signing up for Speakeasy's DSL. Damnit! I'm mad! I should have bought that PS2 so I could have yet another dedicated GTA3 machine.
As far as Win32 IM solutions go, this is better than Trillian...how? The answer: "It's open source!" isn't valid. While it may become better in time, right now Trillian is the flat out king of Win32 IM solutions in terms of versatility and usability.
I don't doubt that it's a fantastic (and it may very well be the best) IM solution on the Linux platform.
Maybe in time, this will be important news to Win32 users, but right now it's just another program that isn't as good as others already available.
I'm a huge fan of DDR and I've been playing it since it came out in Japan.. I prefer the Beatmania series, but I'm not too big on the Beatmania IIDX branch.
An excellent DDR Sim for the PC is called "Dance With Intensity" and it allows you to use mp3s to recreate the DDR experience at home..all you need a dance mat for the PSX with a PSX-> USB adaptor and maybe some tv out to go to your tv. I have a laptop that functions as a dedicated DWI machine.
Someone was working on GLDuke (screenshots from some random site), but I have no idea what's up with the project anymore. Last I heard, it was scrapped. The Official site yields a 404.
I did find an alternate site with the last binaries and source that the guy did. If anyone wants to pick up the project, I'm sure you'd get lots of love.
Just think, the same project could be applied towards GLBlood, GLShadowWarrior, uh..*shudder* GLTekWar, and a few others. Heh. GLPaintBrawl.:)
Seriously though, I hope someone does something good with this stuff.
It's too bad Zerstorer doesn't work with Tenebrae. Maybe if someone could hack it to work, then you'd have a good reason to try it.
Zerstorer is easilly the greatest single player Quake episode ever. Better than Beyond Belief, better than Rubicon, better than Prenumbra of Destruction, and better than Prodigy:Special Edition.
I lost the cd, yes. I wanted to download drivers for my scanner, not have them send me a cd in the mail. They wanted to charge me $20.
Any company that doesn't make drivers for their hardware available online is in dire need of going under.
Man, I can't think of a single good experience I've had with them. Once, I lost the driver cd that came with my scanner and they wanted me to pay $20 just for the drivers to use the scanner I'd already bought. I'm sorry, but I'm not a corporation and I'd really like it if they treated me like a person.
I have had somewhat positive experiences with Gateway and Dell, though I've never had to deal with their tech support, per se. Normally my problems with them have been relating to the fact that they never send me exactally what's on the invoice. Yea, I didn't want those $250 Boston Acoustic speakers anyways. Thanks for these $20 Altec Lansings and thanks for charging me $250 for them!

Is this how they came up with all of the bad english puns in Serious Sam?

Wouldn't the better downloading speeds in theory entice new users towards using the network?
Especially over ATi and nVidia offerings. Maybe the Same OEMs that offer computers built with Cyrix CPUs, yea. :)
