  1. Now we're really screwed on Microsoft Ordered to Carry Java · · Score: 1

Now, if you wipe your drive clean you will have to get service pack 1 for XP to get JVM. I ran into this a few days ago, but luckily I had gone to the admin downloads a few months ago and downloaded ALL of the pre SP1 updates EXEPT for the famous Media Player backdoor. I did this back when MS announced that soon, Windows Update would begin uniquely ID'ing your machine. So if you believe the little drama that was acted out in front of you to make divert your attention to the illusion that they are getting tough with MS you might want to read the story or Brayer Rabbit from the Disney movie Song of the South, which you can get in NTSH format from ebay pirates. God Bless Us All.

went to spacecamp as a kid, and therefore an authority on the matters of the space program, I can say that until we progress past the "Lets see what this will do if we take it into space" way of exploration, we're going to wallow in this outdated space program for decades to come. We need research and development, not morale boosters. Almost every dollar spent on feelgood space is wasted in the race (which we still must continue to run) for world dominance and superiority. Remember the tortaise and the hare?

a truly inovative idea, for a PC maker to do. Very good way to take advantage of all of your resources for income and business in general. Ted is still a great CEO, or whatever he is now. And he obviously has a decent team with him. But there are many things I would still do different If I were at the helm of Gateway. I own two of there computers. I will indeed build my own next time, but they were a great duo of first desktop and laptop for me.

It would kill them. The first time they had an opportunity to rip someone off, theyd start going through widthdrawels and shaking in the floor when they couldn't.

Mick Jagger, whose been using the internet since 93 or 4, wasted no time in registering www.mickjagger.com and putting it to occasionaly interesting use. Bill is just going through retirement remorse, and must do something to fill the day. Though he did put out the excellent solo album "Monkey Grip" in the late 70's. It really is good. I have it on vinyl.

Now keep in mind, I told a girl that under normal circumstance I would have been in love with, that I couldnt see goin out to dinner unless the restraunt had phone jacks at some of the tables. I expect, that over the next few years, phone jacks will become common at restraunt tables(Im talkin fine dinning, more upscale places where dinner can be a couple of hours.) and then I will be able to date again. I cant wait.

But some folks find it worth the trouble to use a complete system that offers complete Freedom, as almost any time throughout history, there was some type of struggle involved in the seeking of Freedom. What would keep consumers, who are interested in running Free Software, from banding together in a class action suit on behalf of ourselves, and no business interest? The more knowledgable of us could outline the specifics of what we want(smb protocols, ect.) and why, and we could use reserve and keep it to the bare minimum of what we need so as to not seem overly unresonable and have a more realistic chance of getting it. Slashdot would be a good place to begin the initiative. Why has this type of thing not been done?

I use Libranet 2.7, and for anyone whos interested in using the basic concept of what this article is talking about, give it a shot. You've got Gnome 2 and KDE 3 very well integrated, a VERY easy text based install, Adminmenu is an excellent system config tool that covers a lot of very important territory like networking, X , software management, security updates, and on and on. No, I have zero relation to them other than as user, but I promise you, it is very well done, and well worth the price for anyone who would like to explore Debian, but for one reason or another cant get it happening. Im not pushing a product, Im just saying, for the sake of those who may be interested, and anyone else can use whatever wonderful distro you use.

Actually, most of what people genericly refer to as "Mexicans" are Guatamalans. They make up an almost equal portion of immagrees in this country. There are others of course, Peruvians, Brazillians, but chances are, youre seeing more guatamalans than youd realize. And by the way, in my town, which has a HUGE latino community, its mostly teenage white boys graffiti'ing up the place. They make the paper all the time getting caught. I am a whitey, but thats not a point of pride, as over all, we are some of the biggest global trouble makers of any.

That is funny, and an awsome thought.
Have we ever documented any found historical
artifacts or places, that something was indeed
set up with the sole intention of playing a
little practical joke on someone in the
distant future? The moment someone encountered
such a situation would be like touching
fingertips with a fellow human from thousands
of years ago. And youd have to hope that the
potential Grand Benevolent Being (GBB) behind
this universe would allow the person that
placed the joke, to witness its outcome and
get to giggle, or have whatever reation. It
would be a shame to set something like this
up, and then not witness the fruits of your
labor. But the spirit of the joke being
transfered back into the human race again
would be awsome enough of a feat, I think.
But if I was the GBB behind this awsome
universe, I would let the guy watch his
joke get played out to completion, If not
from the physical realm, at least from a nice
perch just the other side of this vibrational
range of being. Do unto others you know.
