  1. Re:U.S. Democracy on Homeland Security Tests Snoop Computer System · · Score: 1

US citizens have freedom, what they don't have is anonymity. If you feel that your -now public- acts restrict you in any way, that's another problem.

BTW, UK suffers the very same problem

Oh, and please don't give up on US. You'll do them a terrible damage if that happens;)

  10. What for? on Microsoft Slugs Mac Users With Vista Tax · · Score: 1

Vista needs about 15gb (minimum) of disk space. Why would you waste 15gb for a secondary OS in your Mac when there's a lot of porn and copyrighted content starving out there and looking for a warm spot in your cosy hard drive?

Besides, if you really need a Windows OS in your mac, use XP. It uses far less resources than Vista and the result is almost the same. Not to mention that areo's performance would be pretty bad in a virtualized environment (Disclarimer: Haven't tried this scenario yet)

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.

Truth is, there is a anti-US feeling in the air, at least in Argentina. Just like there is an anti-muslim in the US.

Of course the people who think that way are not very informed persons. Treating everyone like criminals because some few of them actually are (Osama - Bush) is a very common mistake which media companies encourage and do nothing to revert.

  14. Re:What is Music? on Want to Take On An Open/Unsolved Problem? · · Score: 1

I've always wondered what music is. IMHO music is the language for feelings. For example, not even 1 million words can make you feel as sad, lonely and miserable as Creep from Radiohead.

If you want to get happy, you just play any happy track and 2 minutes later, your mood turned from whatever the previous state was.
And there's no way for you feeling bad about something if you are listening to a song that makes you feel happy. Either you take the bad news as joke or you turn the music down.

In "Tarantino connection", one track in an interview to him. he states that if you combine scenes with good music, then, there's no way for you to listen to the track without remembering the scene and vice versa. Couldn't find the exact quote..

Let's whine together: If you are a Latin American resident you can't buy any music at all cause there aren't any iTunes Stores for any Latin American country. You can't even download the covers cause you can't create an iTunes account anywhere. Buuuhhh.
So stop whinnying cause you just can't buy Night of Fire. If you are so interested in J-Pop, Google for a store that sells it to you. It's not that Apple "won't let you hear" as the title says.

It's as childish as complaining because the a specific bar won't sell Coke to you because it has Pepsi instead.

    A 2Gb Silver Nano costs 999 Argentine pesos = 323.50 U.S. dollars
Now if you want it in another color: 1344 Argentine pesos = 435.20 U.S. dollars

And aside of that, it takes much more work for the average 3rd world citizen to get USD $323 than to the average 1st world citizen.

So we are kind of stuck with cheap technology, and leftovers from the 1st world countries.

Bottom line. We are technologically segregated.
