And notice how the community college he went to does not actually offer a degree in Astrophysics? Infact, the article never said he got a degree in Astrophysics. The article only says he is "studying" astrophysics.
yes, innocent. they did nothing wrong when they wrote that software. the patent is technically INVALID -- microsoft has NO reason to assume that what they were doing was patentable. if MS would get the patent office to invalid the patent then a jury verdict will be over turned. its kin to being convicted of a murder you did not do. and the DNA tests would overturn the conviction.
i hate these people who get awarded patents for things they did not invent then go and sue a big innocent company.
we need some serious patent reform
at least obama can hire COMPETENT software engineers to review software related patents
because this is rediculous how people get awarded patents for things that make a patent invalid - PRIOR ART and OBVIOUS
how do you know they were looking for support contracts? If you have trained IT staff, you won't really need to pay extra for support. So that would just leave the cost to license the software.
They probably don't need to go through a bidding process because they assume that open source is "free". So any descision to purchase Windows goes without a formal bidding process.
the main difference between pirate bay and youtube is that pirate has the intent to steal stuff (hence the name "Pirate bay") and does not comply with requests to take copyright material offline. youtube will gladly comply with your copyright take down notices if you are the legal copyright holder. and before you try to tell me that pirate bay isn't actually transferring the actual files, that is irrelevent because they are still facilitating the transfer of illegal content. assisting a crime isn't a get out of jail free card.
HELLO PATENT OFFICE!?!?!?
Did you ever think to realize that SOAP was designed for CGI to begin with??? This is such a frivilous claim to invention that it makes my blood boil.
We need some serious patent reform in this country. The least that could be done is to hire actual computer engineers to analyze patent applications before they are awarded.
Don't just throw that stuff away! Donate that stuff to some poor areas of Africa or something noble like that. You can donate your old TVs (as USA is going all-digital), and any educational VHS tapes + equipment to schools in rural Africa. It would keep it out of our continuously-growing landfills and put to good use.
unfortunately a lot of businesses don't have the money to hire someone to make sure their IT security is inpennetrable. they often have business objectives to worry about that are more important than making sure the security is top notch. How many admins actually don't consider security? probably not a lot.
I don't understand why it makes a difference. I would be really concerned if a webpage was trying to communicate with another webpage through the tabs.
As far as I know, there is no reason for browser processes to communicate between each other.
I just found out that AT&T (formerly BellSouth in this area) had actually managed to install fiber optic cables to our house up to a roadside service box. but unfortunately, the cables from the service box to the central office are made of copper. I found that ironic but at least they are making progress!
I'm not too surprised, because there are always those few individuals who abuse the internet with their piracy. it ruins it for those people who make use of their bandwidth for legitimate purposes.
the problem is actually more wide spread than I initially thought.
We see steve jobs shamelessly promoting his business. Watching the government say Fuck you! when he orders them to throw out all of their computers and switch to fruity macs.
This will never fan out, especially in the intelligence community. Since WW2 they have been operating on a need-to-know basis so that not even the president can know about an operation if he doesnt need to know. So that would imply that not even mister jobs can not know what their computer systems are running.
Ahh, the pain it would be to realize that you threw away your vote... I'd rather reelect bush ANY day!

$35,000 of tax payer dollars to determine if it is a good idea?
I hope you twats are happy about this descision to let a criminal like this go free because you have some unfounded fear of GPS tracking
Why not just create open standards rather than force people to use a certain peice of software by law?

this is sobering news. What the heck, Obama!?!?!

I tried this chrome beta but unfortunately, FLASH player is not working properly on some sites.

see topic. I hope Nevada law makers know its not April Fools. They never required phone conversations to be encrypted, why emails?

I don't really care because it doesnt matter what they do-- People are going to complain. Why? BECAUSE ITS MICROSOFT.
