I know that this is hardly relevant, but in UK law you are only allowed to watch a recording of a TV programme once. Of course, nobody sticks to that, and probably nobody even knows of it, but that's the law here...
I don't think that the writer read ANY of the documentation, nor did she use common sense: if you install an OS on the second hard drive, of COURSE the BIOS isn't going to find it, because the BIOS doesn't expect the OS to be on drive #2.
I don't believe that that is common sense; true it would appear that the author would know that, but for most newbies I doubt it makes any sense at all.
I just meant generally applications run slower. And I do use XChat and The GIMP and they load slower on Knoppix; all I meant to say was that the loading times were often noticeable, I suppose I didn't make that clear... I'd put Linux on my laptop, except having Linux on things makes me tweak them and break them, and I need this for school:(.
I believe that in this case competition is a good thing. KDE and GNOME are very different, however when you don't use either you don't really notice it. I would _HATE_ Linux desktops if I had to use KDE; I just don't like KDE. I'm a Gnome person.
Isn't the grandparent saying that a licence which forbids you from selling the software is not free? If so, haven't you just confirmed their point?
*scratches head*

Not tried Garnome then? It really does make compiling gnome from source really easy.
webmaster"mywebsite.com ?
You have to be careful with the second option, as shift-2 on UK keyboards produces " - keep in mind different layouts.
"Is it no wonder the general public hates fucking pigs?"
:/
/me gets rid of that mental image...
Erm, great phrasing
uudecode does base64 IIRC, dunno if that's available on OS X.
There's a two button limitation on the gameport? That's news to me... /me plays some NES games using his 4-button gamepad...

Doesn't freshmeat already have a rating system...?
I really don't wish to know :/.
Damn. That should read "I just meant generally applications start slower". Once they've started they're fast. /me kicks himself in the head...

No, it isn't. Many apps run a bit slower on my machine in Knoppix than they do on Windows.
A Real One mobile phone??? No thanks!
I'm guessing that it's just a "troll" (in quotes, as it isn't really a troll...). I've seen these a few times before they get modded down *shrug*.
*rolls eyes*
Yeah... I often find myself typing "porn" instead of "port"... Gets annoying ;).
...you do know that AIDS can be passed on by both homosexual and heterosexual intercourse, don't you..?
/me keeps his bare arms...
Uhh...

Pentium Fork?
I always thought it was XFree86 = X386
Yes... why wouldn't it be? It's perfectly possible to have closed forks... *imagines a closed utensil*
RH8 includes MP3s? How would you play them? :)
