corporate = more money, oddly less red tape and bureaucracy, but less freedom to do more fun things.
education = more freedom but more red tape and hassles when you want/need something due to federal monies and grants being limited.
I would probably go with corporate given that you'll get to play with the latest and greatest while making good money at it, even though you'll have to probably wear a suit and tie. But that's just my 0.02
Unfortunately, in today's society, if corporations do not put their weight behind certain "controversial" projects, i.e. stem cell research, nothing will ever get done about it. There is not enough personal wealth that is not tied to a prominent corporate exec that would be in all other situations tied to the corporation to fund even a percentage of these controversial projects. For better or worse, we need corporations to be willing to throw their hat in the ring. However, that is just my two cents.
heh, you presume that they'll give credit where credit is due. They'll just end up taking the idea for their own and say SCREW to the lot of slash dot and their ilk. But that's just their motis operandi, I could be wrong...
I agree. I've found that most apps are point and click "tools" that any 4 year old with thumbs can use. It takes someone with actual desire to use some real tools which take a greater understanding of protocols, and the greater inner workings of a computer. Which you DEFFINATELY can't get in Windows because it's all obfuscated.
You know, I haven't run into this problem at all. I admin a sizable network running novell and we're on client release 4.91. I haven't seen one issue. Then again, everything has been properly implimented. I will say that a poorly Novell network is SHIT. But who want's ANYTHING poorly implimented. If we had problems, I would still say I would take a buggy client than a poorly implimented network that makes due...
In other news! Microsoft and Sony are now including PS2 ports for mouse and keyboard funcionality for console gaming! It's touted as the next big innovation in gaming since the annoyingly slow cd loading screens!
I'm not saying the justification for stealing is there. What I do know, is that you are snubbing your nose at potential fans if you don't allow somone to just buy a few songs off your album, instead of paying more for something you don't want. Yeah the person won't get a good idea of how good your band... or what your band is really all about for that matter. But it's still better than if that fan haddn't heard about you at all. Or is not willing to spend one dime on you. Personally, I tend to buy the whole album myself because I feel that there are certain songs that might not appeal to me just that moment but later on will grow on me. Weather my mood changes or what. So it's really a moot point. I'm just saying that people need to be much less rigid and they'll find that it may very well suit them.
I think, things have come a long way with ITunes in that you can buy one or two songs that you like, and leave the rest of the crap to the vultures. It's when you're being forced to pay $15 to $18 for a couple good songs and a bunch of filler. That's when you run into people taking alternate means to get the stuff they want. But, knowing some musitians myself, I know they make WAY more money on concerts than recordings and don't care if their stuff gets shared. Because that means they make more money at the shows because more people know and like them as a result of the shareing of their music.

there's a shocker. Could we move on to something that wasn't as obvious??? Phishers looking for user names and passwords using a tool to collect said information. I'm just dumbfounded they were smart enough to think about it!
I agree, it really should be left up to the individual. If I find out somone besides me posts my information on the internet, I'll track them down and do something about it. I don't think it should be up to the government to track them down for you. That's just pushing it a little too far and making people a little too lazy. I don't want to be hand fed everything. I'll work for it thank you. At least that way I know what goes into the process and not kept in the dark about the goings ons...
My guess would be that since 1982, they kept figuring out how to make conventional drives bigger and cheaper so there was no real need to spend the $ on R&D for new technology drives, now that drives are reaching their limmit, there needs to be a technology shift which is using an idea from the 80's.
You know, they can charge anything they want and still get it. $60 a game is quite expensive. But I guess if you really want it, you'll figure out how to afford it. *shrugs* I think it sucks because not one system is better off than the other being at the mercy of the developers...
My appologies on the mixup of FDA with USDA. I should of paid more attention. And I'm not spouting against the FDA. I'm just saying that I hope this treatment has an easy time to pass their inspection.
I can't express enough the gratitude I have for those scientists who keep pushing through for advancement. Keep up the good work and keep those cures coming. I'm sure it'll be a while before the cure becomes readily available. Especially in the US due to strict USDA laws and regulations, but I hope it does well and progresses quickly.
hear hear! As somone who works on many projects, I love it when somone tells me bad things about the project. That way I can step back and take an objective look at it, really examine what they're talking about and make a decision based on my findings. Weather they're blowing smoke, or really seeing a problem. If they really saw a problem, I will correct it. It's just that simple. I wouldn't just leave it, discounting the 3rd party opinion as bunk.
