I have been to several Sun classes. They may be expensive but they are verry good. I did the Sun boot camp training last year. 12 hours a day. Rough going but I learned a lot and they treated me like royalty. Catered lunch and trips out for dinner. Uhm, open bar tab on my room card.;)
Highly recommended. Someone else mentioned the books they give you. VERY good! They are pretty much step by step intructions to perform your job.
SANS is also very good. I did the Unix track and am now the primary security person in my dept and I enjoy it. We do monthly scans and I have to find fixes for all the new vulns. One of my monthly pleasures.
I highly doubt the real reason they are fighting for their customers privacy rights is for the customer. It is most likely to preserve their common carrier status or some other reason.
It is much more than that. I used to work for a local newspaper. The first thing to go when a business is not well is advertising money. WalMart uses inserts. They are not profitable for the paper. The big money is in marking up ads. When the money disappears it hurts many aspects of the community.
I don't shop at WalMart. I can buy what I want locally for not much more money. A few bux here and there helps support my community.
I followed the Amazon link to see this here Great Purple Book and lo and behold! I found more than the book:
Customers who shopped for this item also wear:
Clean Underwear from Amazon's Eddie Bauer Store Ladybug Rain Boots from Amazon's Nordstrom Store Suede Headwraps from Amazon's International Male Store Cheetah Print Slippers from Amazon's Old Navy Store
Is this what geeks really wear? I mean, I can see the Ladybug Rain Boots (love mine) and the Cheetah Slippers but clean underwear? That HAS to be stretching it, don't ya think?
I have a near full collection of OMNI mags from issue one to the end. It was one of those mags I got hooked on very early on. It was a great blend of science and scifi stories. The ads are something to behold too. The old computer ads are great.

Ok, here's the deal... back up your address book, delete all the entries and fill it with MS addresses. Install the software then after the deed is done uninstall it and restore your addresses.
There, wasn't that fun?

Guess who just got himself unelected come next term. Talk about Rock the Vote! He is doing more to encourage voting than any MTV special can ever do.

Go to a SANS conference. Spend a week in their care and you will walk away with a lot of good advice.
qz
Didn't you read the book? The butterfly was in Africa.
Damn! Just blew the plot for everyone, didn't I?

Shouldn't they be telling the DOD why their software is better?
Oh, wait... strike that...
qz
Oh, riight! It was in the TPS report. I'll send him another memo.
qz
Are you ok with that?

And this, my friends, concludes the discussion as the best post in the
thread.
Thank you.

This is interesting. I am in the US and used to buy imports for their superior quality.
