Windows XP had the same problem... I'm not sure but I think they screwed up the feature with SP2. Firstly, SP2 disabled Hibernation, but you could re-enable by changing a registry entry. However, if your PC had more than 2GB memory it wouldn't work. Only reciently (like a couple of months ago) they released a fix for the bug
That's funny, last time I checked, Linux didn't actaully have the hibernation feature. At least it doesn't install it on desktop installs. (By the way, just to be clear, hibernation is a feature first brought out with Windows ME, that requires no hardward support. It just dumps the contents of RAM onto your hard drive.)
That's just ridiculous. The reason is quite simple: overuse of solar energy has used up all the sun light in their part of the globe. Parts of Alaska have this same problem during winter.
I tried your suggestion. Doesn't work. Typed in "Wuthering Heights" (bastards made me read that in school) and the results are, "ANSI Common Lisp", "The justification of God : an exegetical and theological study of Romans"
From reading the Wikipedia it doesn't seem so harmless to me: "the maximum permissible concentration for airborne soluble polonium compounds is about 7,500 Bq/m3 (2 × 10-11 Ci/cm3)." So, couldn't it be used as a dirty weapon if you made it into a fine powder and sprayed it into the atmosphere?
Some other facts: "A great deal of energy is released by its decay with half a gram quickly reaching a temperature above 750 K."
"When it is mixed or alloyed with beryllium, polonium can be a neutron source: beryllium releases a neutron upon absorption of an alpha particle that is supplied by 210Po. It has been used in this capacity as a neutron trigger for nuclear weapons. "
So they only sell a small amount of it, this doesn't prevent some one determined enough to acculumate the required amount over a long period of time
Maybe I used a bad example. Take a chipped playstation, or a radar detector, both are sold legally (at least where I live) and both have only one purpose, to break the law
They built an API to access google earth data in a different way. The license says you can only access the data via googles client software. But the Gaia project itself is not violating the license, they are just providing the means. Its the people that use the Gaia API that do the violation. This is just like a manufacture of a CD burner. A CD burner can be illegally used to copy copyrighted material, but it is the user of the CD burner that's breaking the license, not the CD manufacturer
You want code re-use? Object oriented design techniques work equally well for all areas of software engineering. Don't think there is some "special" technique for GUIs.
I've being wondering for a long time weither spammers actually make enough money to justify the effort. I'm sure some do, but the scams that they send are so obviously frauduent that there must be a lot of spammers that don't make any money at all. So, why do they do it? I think it's the same reason why people vandalise public property, just because they can, and they enjoy fucking things up for other people. Basically, it's vandalism of the internet. Spamming isn't just e-mail you know, many wikis and forums are regularly spammed so much that they have become unusable.
There will be another browser vulnerability study published that compairs minor Firefox bugs with severe "allows code execution" vunerbilities in IE. This will allow IE users come to the smug conclusion that neither browser is more secure and feel good about using Microsoft products again.

That buffer overflow error would be another reason why you would want an older version, becuase it didn't exist in PHP4
If you deploy too many solar panels in one place you could use up all the sunlight. This has already happened in nothern Scandinavia and during part of the winter they now are in total darkness.
I'm sure it's available for laptop installs, but I was taking about desktop

What's worse than that the client is written in c#. All the gargage collection goodness of Java with none of the portability ;)

She probably spends a lot of time trying to figure out how to get a CD into her iPod.
you really think the consumer is going to buy from the same company after being screwed once?

I wonder if they will add PHP support for Visual Studio.
This would allow step-by-step debugging of web applications created with PHP
Exactly what I was thinking. These microbs could surivive on Mars, but could they *evolve* there?

That's the funniest comment made so far!
Please send it to Hachamovitch. Please!!
but the most amazing thing of all that it was a commercial success and there were actually 200,000 people stupid enough to buy it
