i guess you could call me a glutton for punishment.

I am very impressed, your defenses on why you use what you do for your computing needs have foiled my plan to call you a fanboy/newb. It is like you already saw the attacks coming, and preemptively shot them down. You sir, have won three internets.

If you are from a US state you can apply to companies in other US States (most big EU companies have big offices in the US) for internships, since guess what? You are legally entitled to do so. I ignore which reasons you may have for thinking going to the EU now is such a good idea, from the professional point of view you can achieve the same or better development by applying to companies in the US. If you really must go to the EU you can join an EU company with the view to be relocated there eventually, or perhaps to travel there as part of your duties in a regular job.

Going to a party and asked to bring something? A bag of potato chips does well. It's cheap, and you don't look like a mooch by coming in empty handed.

I have noticed that with LEDs, they are brighter than a comparable halogen bulb + filter, but they do not light up the surrounding area as well. I have an LED lightbar on top of my vehicle (volunteer firefighter), and the lights are brighter, but compared to a halogen lightbar, it does not light up the area with red and white the same. It is definitely more visible though. That is why I think LEDs might be good for taillights and such, but probably not for headlights.
