***$25***?! I hope it was a Japanese bootleg of a 10 year old concert with rare songs on it, or else that is the worst price gouge for a cd I've ever heard of. You'd think they'd have security guards near the Lisa Loeb section with that kind of price.
Maybe now you can get it for $12.99 if you haven't downloaded it already.
This is long overdue, and hopefully will start a trend amongst the other companies. I nearly gag every time I walk into a mainstream music store and see a $18.99 price tag. Saving $6 will help some, but the real test would be for these guys to keep back issues of cds at this price. I am betting once the initial few weeks are over the cds will go back to $18.99. If this happens people have no reason to stop downloading.
Or a pretzel, or even a bottle cap. Maybe the computer will think there are many different soccer balls on the playing field and start kicking madly. Perhaps in the confusion you'd be able to zip the ball around it's fenzied kickers. Worth a try...
And without the opposing human to see what you're doing, who's to stop you putting beer bottles on either side of your goalie? Impossible scoring technique, ha-HA!
It'd be good for Nasa to pick up our trash because last I've heard we have a ton of it out there floating about. Whether they'll hunt it down is another thing...
Instead, I'm guessing we'll bump into one or both of the Pioneers in an alien museum of some sort thousands of years from now. The aliens will be like, hey hello, nice to meet you, and by the way we've got some of your stuff.
What would really be crazy is for the Pioneers to mysteriously head back to earth, as if something 'volleyed' them. Maybe the plaques will have been replaced...
Everyone seems to have forgotten the monkey they stuck in the Pioneer 10. It has reportedly sent back a few transmissions of its post-Pluto trip already, like the following:
:: "There are no bananas anywhere near Pluto" :: "Still no bananas" :: "Green people had sharp objects, but no bananas" :: "Please send bananas"
Er, where is this coming from? I think you missed my point. I appreciate the 'Life's Little Instruction Book' remedies but all I was saying was that unless people turned off their tvs, unsubscribed from mags and papers, and turned off the radio would people be able to forge through a boycott. The entertainment bigs have so much media influence that to ignore the latest action flick/hot music group would be pretty hard for most.
If someone had said no no no, don't do it I'll die without my mtv then yeah, they should get a grip. But I didn't say that, as is easily discerned from the message. So... hang in there champ and read a book.
I think it'd be very hard to boycott such a huge part of our entertainment lives, especially since they keep throwing temptation at us with commercials and ads.
I would give the boycott a go if I thought it would help, but I think we might have to work our way up to it. Boycott a few small things to get their attention, etc.
If there is a boycott, though, can we please do it when there's no LOTR or Radiohead cd planned for release?:D
I was wondering if it's worth picking this book up if one already has the Core Java 2 series.
1.4 is obviously more updated than 1.2, but does that make my Core Java books obsolete in terms of API info? It's still got the concepts of Java (making it non-chuckable), but I am curious if I should pick this book up or just look on the Sun site to check out the new API additions.
I wonder how much it'll cost to play a few hours of solitaire on a super computer? It'll play so fast, I bet the cards will catch fire when they bounce across the screen...
Yeah, I'll agree that such things should've been corrected and more thought out. I suppose that's the movie 'go go go' business and their worry of short attention spans for ya. Unfortunately due to all three being made at once such oversights won't be considered for review.:/ Let's hope for the best...
Sure, pieces here and there were definitely Hollywoodish, but for the person to say "The movie wasnt very good" is rather harsh. I didn't like them adding/removing/changing parts (re:Arwen) either but compared to other book-to-movies that Hollywood trudges forth this didn't turn out as badly as some thought it could.
The next one will probably have more instances like you mention but overall I'm betting it will be stunning, especially will all those battle scenes lined up.
I don't know what that other person saw, but LOTR1 was a fantastic movie. You could feel all 3 hours, though, (since so much happens it feels like you've been there forever) but the special effects make it worth it. I don't know how you could NOT like the movie unless you're a Tolkien stickler. If that's the case, woe is you.
Of course there's holes, every movie's got them. I bet Brin wouldn't be too thrilled having people pick apart his books. I bet Yoda could find a few holes... "A typo, there is!"

"The Elf is a Babe"
"Frodo (Wah Wah Wah)"
"Gandalf Thuggin'"
"Do the Dwarf Dance"
Sounds like a real mix.
There's even going to be a solo by Gollum, though I am not sure what the song title will be.

J.Lo can be the L piece. The Booty Piece should then be rigged to show up more often.
And to think we could've had Axl Rose bringing us in hard rock style... the headbanging anime fans would've been thrilled. Ah well...
Talk about desperately trying to fill in the category with 5 nominees. They should've put Shrek back in there to make it more interesting...

I wonder what this new transmission said...

I guess it's only $20 or so...
