    I have no complaints with a subscription service based game having a subscription service based T&C. I do have a problem with a single player game having subscription service based T&C. And yes there are those of us out here who don't play multiplayer FPS ever. We get pwned enough playing against the computer.

    Wow, you drank the Anti-GM coolaid.

    The real reason Africans don't want GM Aid is because European Greens lied to them about what it will do to their goats. Yes, it sucks paying seed rent to Monsanto, but its still cheaper than locusts eating your crop 1 out of 3 years or so.

    And the reason they don't take the Aid shipments of foodstuffs has to do with Dictators prefering to dominate starving people.

    Long life rechargeable batteries heat up under load(charge/discharge), possibly moreso than MOST portable/mobile processors.

    Odd, I was sure that the "diskette" on the 3.5 inch floppys was pretty floppy. The "hard plastic case" is the container, the disk was floppy.

    I have a Trackball I prefer to use, and I use with all my computers, its sufficently small to toss in the laptop case and a trackball doesn't take up that much space.

    The brain and semlance of person are late first trimester. When I held my son after my wife miscarried at 16 weeks he was unmistakably human and unmistakeable the child of my wife and I.

    Killing my son(or daughter) because you changed your mind about ME without giving me the option of supporting Him(or her) is murder. Killing Him with my consent is murder too, but that is a different part of the moral argument.

    Of course I can acquire a legal copy of a fully functional version of MICROSOFT's OFFICE software for around $20 that does everything I need it to do.

    That is because there hasn't been a meaningful update to Office since 97.

    [pedant] Warez is illegal [/pedant] Yes, some slashdotters support some aspects of the warez scene, others are involved, and others were involved. Others are trying to cure the cause and others still aren't worried because Piracy/warez/etc has been around since shakespeare and isn't going away regardless how many bills pass or people are jailed.

    Information takes the path of least resistance and whether it is Harry Potter or GTA:VC it will find its way to some people who haven't paid for it because it's fun to have your identity associated with "giving" that to the "public".

    Your top level "cracker" could sit next to you in class, or be across the country or around the world, and you wouldn't know the difference, they levels of insulation are fairly extreme and there are usually at least 3 levels of trusted couriers and 3-5 untrusted couriers between "cracker" and distribution and again between distribution and FTP. The guy sitting next to you at school that you're offering the copy of Star wars 2 to could be a Cop or the guy who originally cracked it and you wouldn't have the means to know.

    Level 1 is more like 1000 worldwide, and you forgot the FTP and IRC levels which are usually between the dump and usenet and usenet and the P2P although some FTP servers support IRC users directly, rather than usenet.
