Completely off-topic, but today is Norway's national day.

  2. BitTorrent on Practical File System Design with the Be File System · · Score: 4, Informative

It may be redundant - if it is, just moderate it as such, but here is a Torrent, so that we don't completely destroy the nice BiggestPOS' mirror.
I'll seed it for an hour or so.

You do not just call people "babies" because their views conflict with yours. Nomatter how you look at it, Stallman is a great and important character, whose views should be taken into consideration, or at least not dismissed immediately as that of a "baby".
His fear of the Big Brother society is genuine, and if he feels that RFID technology like this one is turning our world into such a society, then he should raise his voice over it. This is exactly what he's doing. Be glad that someone is looking out for YOUR FREEDOM, since you obviously are not.

OK, the video was stupid, but here is a torrent. I won't be seeding for a long time, though, so get downloading, and seed for a bit!

  8. Sluggishness on Mozilla Thunderbird 0.6 Released · · Score: 3, Interesting

I don't mean to start a flamewar, but KMail REALLY does seem a lot more responsive (especially when manuevering about in the pulldown menus) than Thunderbird. Do you agree? If not, could I have done something wrong at some point?

  9. Re:15 Megawatts on How Many Google Machines, Really? · · Score: 5, Funny

According to Google herself dried wood contains 15.5 MJ of energy per kg. It seems that Google consumes about 1 kg of wood per second (if they've found a way to utilize 100% of the energy, which they of course have - they're Google, after all), and that the pigeons are just there to use their wings to dry the wood!
    We're on to you, Google!

  10. Heat on How Many Google Machines, Really? · · Score: 5, Informative

A Pentium 4 dissipates around 85 W of heat. I don't know what the Xeon does, but let's be kind and say 50 W (wild guess). Using the article's "low end" estimate, that brings us to 4.7 MW!
I hope they have good ventilation...

-nVidia proprietary drivers (forgive me Linus, for I have sinned... I mean it)
    -KDE
    -XMMS
    -Mozilla Firefox
