The once-in-a-lifetime discount for student developers is 20% off the regular Apple Store price for a MacBook Pro. If I remember correctly, the normal edu discount is around 10%.
So, they are using stock Intel parts and still managed to mess up the power supply unit. As can be read here, more than a few users report a whining noise from the psu when the cpus are idling.
Quick fix: leave PhotoBooth running in the background. D'oh!
They'll hopefully wait with the upgrade to 1920x1200 until their new eyeSight series of correctional glasses is shipping. Anything more than my old PowerBook's resolution would be too high-res for my taste.
Oh well, that's interpolated. Since the projector's native resolution is 1024x768, I wouldn't call it HD ready, but let's leave it at that. We're OT already.
That should have read "the only magazine after Byte, that I felt was in the same league of broad IT coverage, was the german Heise C't magazine". Sadly, c't is no longer as nice a magazine as it used to be.
C'mon, if you really wanted to mess with Graffiti, you'd get a Palm. Besides the ingeniously clever OS, its hand writing recognition was what the Newt was all about!
I know one thing for sure: there is a SWIM chip in my old Mac that controls the floppy drive. For those who don't know: that's a Super Wozniak Integrated Machine. I guess that means Woz had something to do with my Mac.
What the hell do you have in your luggage that needs THAT?!?
An Airport Express Station.
You do realise Guy Kawaski also isn't as young as he used to be? Though he probably aged a lot slower than the management guys...

They could have pictured the tiger from behind - the Apple logo could have become some sort of glowing bum hole...
That's why they invented podcasts.
Just for the record: you cannot thransfer songs to the iPod nano via Firewire. Sadly, transfers are USB only.

What's so HDTV capable about 1024x768?
Laserlight solves that issue.

I know it's lame to use prebuilt stuff - but have you realized Apple sells iBooks that serve this exact purpose?
Why don't you just delete the browser plugin?
Shimatta Is "shit" a short form of this word?
There are good players already: MPlayer and VLC. Absolutely no need to even touch the QT Player - let alone buy the Pro version.
Should run okay, shouldn't it?
I bet 10.1 still gives you headaches today. Their beers don't.
That thing was a severe security risk.
