Well, that's the thing, these things are going for about $500 retail...
And it isn't a stripped down drive either, there are people buying up Creative Labs Muvo^2 players and getting the microdrive out and they work. Apple has just done some kind of strange partition on something to the drive.

There is a discussion over at dpreview.com that details the trials of trying to get the removed microdrive to work with cameras, etc.
Maybe someone in the slashdot community could contribute to the thread over there with some ideas on how to get it to work?
Does that $13 check really make up for price fixing on hundreds of CD's that you've purchased over the years (I know it's hundreds for me at least)... It should be $3000 each like they are trying to get from us!!!
The only problem with the one for Mars are the Mars moons. The Martian moons are much closer to Mars than our is, so close in fact that the elevator will have to dodge the moons.
I read that the elevator would have to dodge these moons several times a day. This is all detailed in the Space Elevator Book
"The 2.6 kernel is a server release, so we can expect to see a greater desktop focus, which will be beneficial to us, as more users will be able to use Linux to run their clients really well."
"A rainstorm in Australia yesterday interfered with commands being uplinked to Spirit. At that time, the spacecraft sent a short signal indicating it had received the instructions but engineers said the strength of the uplink was much lower than desired and that not all of the commands got through."
Is it at all possible that getting half commands or garbled commands has confused Sprit?
Or are the more rested people able to think more clearly. I'm not sure if I buy the "thought it up in a dream"... I think you can think more clearly when rested.
Well, I said to GET a job... there are a lot of network engineers with no CCNA that HAVE a job...
The real question is, would the people with no certification that are currently employeed as network engineers get hired in today's job market for their current position if they had to interview for it?
OK, maybe I should have said "You need at least a CCIE to get a decent networking job".
The job market for network people is so bad over her e in the Research Triangle Park, NC area that I got out of it all together. That may just be the RTP area, I don't know. What I do know is that there have been such massive layoffs at Nortel, Ericsson, Cisco, MCI, BTI, you name it, that there is a hell of a glut of experienced, highly trained out of work network folks that a CCNA isn't going to do jack to help you find a job.
This has been my experience as a former Network Engineer.
I wonder if MCGill University has any kind of honor code in place. If you were caught cheating, do you just get a zero on the test or paper, do you get a F in the class, or do you get kicked out of the school?
This is the kind of work they could move overseas... let them get the cancer.

"Avian carriers can provide high delay, low throughput, and low altitude service"
How are you going to get your pigeons to fly to mars?!?!

A great cover letter won't even help you get the resume passed to the person who is doing the hiring.

That will teach them not to lock down their 802.11b access point!

and if they do make it illegal, they will surely need IPv6 very quickly!!!
You need at least a CCIE to get a networking job in the us now.
Doesn't anyone watch Six Feet Under?
How many songs can you get for a confederate dollar?
So, I stopped.
They could have used a Foveon Sensor if they didn't want Bayer interpolation.
In other words, can you stick another 1GB of music on some flash and have it read the MP3's directly off of the flash card?
You mean it went to lunar orbit and back, but yeah that must be pretty cool to see.

Yes, but the emachines are a good $1000 less. Are those Voodoo machines actually $1000 better?
I have the current version of the laptop, the M5312 and have had no major problems. The screen is the best part, really nice.
