He shoots one. Just one. And then leaves it there to rot in his field.
So the moral of that story is...
We should shoot the kid & post the pics all over the Internet...
that should make us safe for the rest of the year... right?
Something about that doesn't seem quite right... Eh, if it worked for the farmer!
Just remove the Hard Drive & take in the laptop for repairs! Then when they ask why you removed the hard drive, just tell them you removed it for security reasons; you don't/can't let your data out of your site.
Then they have no idea what OS you're running & they have no means by which to refuse repairs. Bring in your original Vista Install CD if they need to be able to boot up something.
Why would we make the assumption that the IT folks here in the US would be too stupid to look for any anonymizing technologies?
There are ways to track just about anything. It's all a matter of resources & attention to details.
There are also more forms of intel than just IP packets & log files... Not everything has to come from a computer screen.
Um, isn't that already in use in a ton of other games already?
I know I saw it in Crazy Taxi (on the Dreamcast)...
Ug... This patent crap has gotten out of hand.
We should just scrap the whole pile of fuzzy dice & start over with a shorter available protection period & an easier means of shooting down invalid patent apps to begin with.
Right... Because Microsoft is a generous company that wants to make sure it's users' experience is always the primary focus. They wouldn't want to possibly upset their user base by withholding updates or by calling them thieves on accident.
Oh, wait, they do withhold updates & call their customers/users thieves... Hm... I'm sure they had their customers in mind when they allowed that feature for WGA to authenticate a foreign OS as Windows...
Sheesh...
M$ is a company with their own interests on their mind. They're not out to get us, just out to get our money. This is a bug. Simple enough.
You do realize that Medical studies (MD) is a science, right? (Medical Science, Biology, etc...???) I agree, not a climate scientists, but the poster didn't say anything of that sort, did he?
He was using that comparison as a metaphor to the arguments we've been seeing on/.
Have you ever poured coffee on yourself straight out of your own coffee pot?
It's Hot enough to burn you!
When you get older, your skin can tend to get more sensitive...
The reason this country (USA) is so freaking stupid, is because lawyers are protecting everyone's right to be as stupid as they want to be.
"If I hurt myself or anything I own, I'll just sue the company that made the product that I misused/abused/dropped/spilled/broke/choked on/got stuck in my rectum. It's not like it could actually be my fault!"
They were still peeing their pants in kindergarder? uh... correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't don't most kids "potty trained" well before 5yrs old? (I'm thinking late 3s for boys & earlier for girls)

I live in Texas and just recently got to go to Boston, MA. A lot os the US's history resides in this city... Not to mention MIT & Boston College!!! I saddly enough didn't get to check out either campus, but the history in the city is cool. I loved walking the "Freedom Trail" through the city. (a red stripe that will take you by all the major sites to see in the city).
Just remember to have fun, long trips suck when you're not having fun.
I've got ADD... (At least that's what I was diagnosed with a while back...) And I chose to laugh now instead of being depressed. It's so much easier and more fun to have fun, than to be sulking around saying woe is me.
I have a very hard time focusing at work, but I've found that if something grabs my attention it keeps it for a while. The best thing I can do is set-up Outlook (Hey It's the company standard & I'm kinda forced to use it...) to pop up reminders (via the calendar) every now & again to tell me to get back to work.
I find that the best way to stay focused on the things I need to stay focused on... A distraction from my distractions if you will).
It's tough, but I've been making it alright without ritalin for the last 8 years.
Quite frankly I think that my ADD has helped me in the technical abilities. I'd study on one language or technology for a good long time until I think I've figured it out & I'd get bored enough with it that I feel the need to learn a new technology... And the cycle starts over. I know a few people that would learn one technology and end up sticking with it for long periods of time. I however can't stand to focus on the same thing for too long.
I guess that's why I'm kind of a "Jack of all trades"... I know a little bit about everything. (Well... Almost everything... OK, OK, Everything I've come across...)
Anyways, I also.......
DOH!!! That was my Outlook reminder telling me to get back to work. (Yeah... reading/. isn't exactly what I'm supposed to be getting paid for... Although that would be a cool job...)
Most people don't steal their music, dude. Most people know right from wrong.
As true as the second statement is, EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW has Kazaa on their computer. And that's not because I only know hoodlums & thieves. It's because most people don't have the option to fork up $18 for the 2 songs on a CD that they actually want to listen to.
It's not about knowing right from wrong, it's about what's reasonably realistic. $18 for 2 great songs & 8 horrible sounding pieces of CRAP is not a reasonable method to get your songs.
$0.99 a song however is a great idea & Most of the people I know would gladly pay that amount.
Not neccesrily!
I don't own a Mac & I don't plan to right now ($$$!) I would love to be able to leagally get the songs I want and I don't want to wait until the end of the year when Apple gets iTunes out for the PC. I would gladly welcome a viable iTunes-like PC solution!
But that's just me... Most people are just happy with Kazaa (regaurdless of the leagalities of it)
I finally get to sit in the middle of crap and try to make something out of nothing & make it work like what I'm trying to imitate is supposed to work!
Oh... wait...
That's what I do for a living... (Network Admin for a small (50 Users) company with $0 IT budget)
At least this time I'll get to do something fun!
(They're coming to my town!!! Yipee! Arlington, TX)

Probably because it would be illegal (in terms of the MAME license) to sell MAME...
