What will the ultimate goal of this research be? Aside from the proverbial, we've got the heaviest element bragging rights? This would be in comparision to IBM's Blue Gene vs. the Earth Sim results which seem more significant...
Ted Kennedy and John Kerry - neither seem to be very good for IT - certainly better than the likes of Orrin Hatch, but they don't seem to mind catering to big business either.
Yup, that's why I've been avoiding them so far...been waiting for something a liitle better than camp/fight/camp/wait/camp/fight/camp/camp... I guess we'll see as this gets closer to the release date. But I guess that's what all games are in a nutshell, just variations on the theme.
It looks like an interesting game - a continuation on many levels of the movie where you can interact with whomever you're interested in. e.g. the machine world or Zion etc... I haven't really gotten into mmorpgs, maybe this will be a good start.
"It's believed that Microsoft is planning to launch the Xbox 2 in late 2005, which would give it a significant headstart over its rivals, as neither Sony nor Nintendo is expected to have a new home console ready until 2006."
It seems like both Nintendo and Sony are prepared to launch at the end of 2005 - both look like they are going to unveil the beginning of next year as is Microsoft. Let the competition begin...
It's an issue with my system...
So, folks when are we going to start the rebellion. I mean, exactly how long can we put up with the government working hand in hand with the corporations to make a profit at the cost of humanity and basic rights? I guess I'm speaking in a UScentric way but it will not be long before the rest of the world follows suit. e.g. The Aussie's are coming really close to adopting DMCA tactics and the EU is doing the same...
So folks, what's it going to be? Now or later?
Just the opposite actually. Your position is the classroom ideal but not so realistic. The long term reality is that the banks will pay a high intrest on the amount that is being held and they will recieve a higher amount of interest on anything they lend out. The people at the bottom pay more than they receive so the money still ends up with the wealthy. There are of course exceptions as with anything but that is the ultimate result and hence why the system sucks.
Compare the social reaction you'll get for "Bobby's in jail for dealing drugs" to "Bobby's in jail for downloading music."
Perhaps I mistook you but you made the above comment which seems to imply that social rections determine the goodness/badness of the issue.
However: because reactions may not be similar does not mean the issues are uncomparable. No situation is exactly comparable to another (unless of course they are identical). These two situation are comparable in that it is ultimately unjustifiable to lock people away due to such trivial actions. And locking everyone up for the most simple offence will not really change the law it will just put more people in prison. Thus they are similar enough.
Isn't beer (alcohol) a depressent. Would adding caffine neutralize the depressent. We need some sociological experiments, NOW!
There are no facts here or there or anywhere. There is only Zoul.
Seriously, neither film is unbiased so those with an interest in a particular one pretty much know which way they are voting.

When I had Cable I watched the Daily Show. No more cable means pretty much ignoring news on the TV - but that's what the 'net for, info.

Most Americans don't have our best interests in mind. Most don't even think about the issues. Look at California for an example.

If only I had N.P. and some hot grits to pass the time away... Darn, I've been subverted by /.

There seems to be a glitch how many posts can I toss in here before it's corrected...
When will the game wars begin?
Untill the RIAA screws this up...
Read the MS webpage. They do give explicit permission to share. Surprising, but true....
Declare war on lawyers!!!!
Nice pics of Morgan Webb also!
Orrin Hatch should be beat upside the head with a mackrel.
That's just my humble opinion though...
I have a Focus. How do I get rid of the rev limiter?

It's a lot better than randomly shuffeling the front row.
Nope, they usually just toss it in the bank. Trickle down does not really exist.
Have to second the AdBusters. Also Scientific American and Perfect Ten.
See how fast they made a move on google. Now compare that to their E-voting progress. To have or not have an audit trail, damn how simple is that.
Whatever happened to priorities...
