i think that women tend to not be in love with tech as much as guys (that's sexist, but it's been my experience) and rightfully see IT as a pretty pointless career path, so if you're not doing it for the love or the money why the hell would you bother with it?
you can block flash and other extensions in settings -> privacy -> content settings. you can also make them click to activate. there is no way i'd ever use a browser without some way of getting that click to play functionality.
i never said it was a problem, i personally torrent the shit out of tv and movies because it's slightly easier than getting them legally. i couldn't give a shit whether it's right or wrong, however i have been known to pay for reasonably priced quality content rather than torrent it.
