    Back when I started in Linux, there was SLS and Slackware. The kernel on the install of Slackware I 1st got was .99pl14. I was slackware until 1995 when I went to Mandrake. I did a brief stink with SuSE but didn't like how different it was from Mandrake/RedHat. When Red Hat went commecial, I became an RHCE and stayed with Redhat derivatives.

    I had a 5 meg 386DX-40 that I ran as a DNS server for ham radio. I loaded the entire net-44 into it. It responded nicely. 150ms average. Back then there was only SLS and Slackware and I got Slackware from a buddy on floppies.

    But, they (SAREX) want you to have an "Oscar class" station when you participate on these prearranged events. I think it would be much cooler if I could use a small portable radio that costs $400 to make the contact rather than the $3000 "Oscar class" station.

    When we were on vacation in CA, we were stopped for speeding on highway 299 and had the GPS running. I told it to stop tracking the rest of the trip so I can get the data later. When I looked at it, it was dead on what the officer clocked us at so I think this person has a good case.

    I can make XP force me to shut down in 2 minutes if there is anothing network related running at the time I connect and disconnect from the VPN client. This is the internal VPN client.

    Yeah, they will sue the manufacturer to say that it has more infringing uses than non-infringing uses and get them to stop making it. Imagine everyone bringing this to a concert or some other huge venue. Better have a big hard drive...

    The problem is after all the tariffs from importing the combo back to US, it'll end up costing more than it would if you bought the real 3.6 locally...

    I think the most important thing with getting a 4 year degree or better is that you will be considered for management positions. These typically pay more. I find that this is the thing that's holding me back and as a result, I'm not getting paid more. I think technical jobs have a limit but mangement has unlimited potential.

    It doesn't matter how much work it is. If they trace the source of the leak to someone using this type of service, they will expend a vast amount of energy and money to find it. It doesn't matter how many tunnels, BNCs, VPNs, proxies or PGP encrypted sessions they need to get through, the FBI with the backing of Microsoft *will* find the perp. They have 52.78 billion in cash.

    Peeps are too illiterate to spell or know exactly what they are selling. Stolen stuff usually goes a lot cheaper than a legitimately purchased items. Just another angle at why it's cheaper.
