This could possibly be the saftey net for most e-commerce sites.

Most sites collect the card info and pass it off to the processor (mediating party) and get an approval (authorization) so this "should" not be covered under this patent as the customer does not directly provide information to the mediating party.

You can use parted which is on the Gentoo Live CD and probably others..

From the FAQ: ...Before installing Gentoo, startup with the Mac OS X Install CD. Use the Disk Utility to partition the drive in your machine into two or three partitions. Alternatively use parted from the recent LiveCD, that can handle HFS and HFS+ partitions. Furthermore it is able to shrink a partition so you don't need to delete your whole disk...

The downside to this is that the current Live CD may not work on your box due to a frimware issue, but a fixed iso should be available soon.

Ah... OS/2 the first time I realized that I could run something other than Windows and still be able to do the Windows junk I needed.

I guess most of my virtualization uses have been to use a primary OS other than Windows while still being able to do the stuff that I have to use Windows for.

Unfortunately I don't have any of my old games/software to mess around with... wouldn't mind playing "Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards".

Now I wonder why I have CD copies of Slackware 2.3 and FreeBSD 2.1.5 but I don't have any of my old games. My priorities must be messed up.

The people that have the most cause for concern are the ones using VPC on the Mac to test web development on the Windows platform. Sure it's about as fast as molasses in winter, but it doesn't need to be fast as most of what you are looking for is layout issues.

If MS decides to scrap or cripple VPC for the Mac I will have to use my x86 machione for more than games I guess.

My only real complaint about iTunes is that its random play isn't very random. I prefer the way winamp does this by randomizing the list and then playing it top to bottom, you are guaranteed not to hear the same song twice that way.
