Like, dude, maybe you didn't read the "postage-paid envelope" part of my post. You don't pay a dime. The company that provides the POSTAGE-PAID envelope pays everything.
I saw an interesting e-mail the other day that proposed a solution to junk snail mail. Lots of companies send you junk mail with a postage-paid reply envelope, right? If you take that envelope and stuff it with unrelated junk mail from a different company, seal it up and send it on it's merry way, the junk mailer pays the postage TWICE (once to you, and again back to them), you force them to sort through their mailbox just like you do, and you help out the cash-strapped U.S. Postal Service at the same time.
Yeah, you're right. Thanks for clearing out the cobwebs. You CAN run XFS with LVM though, and I think that accomplishes the same thing. I don't have any experience in that area though.
I watched the Mars Odyssey launch on NASA TV that had one of these cameras onboard. Most impressive thing I've watched on TV in a long time! Video started before launch and ended with payload separation. I believe they had TWO cameras on that one, one outside one the main booster and one inside the payload bay area. It was neat watching the protective nosecone being blown off during deployment! I imagine the shuttle launch will last much longer than Titan launches since it moves so much slower than they do initially.
After much thought, I've realized that my life HAS changed a bit over the past year. After the attacks, I felt the need to simply do *something* positive to counteract all the negative things that were bombarding me. I've written my representatives in congress on various issues. I've gotten involved in my community. I've contributed money to various opensource projects. I tell my family I love them more regularly than before. I VOTED yesterday in the gubernatorial primary election.
Take *ownership* of the problems you see. If you don't like the way things are being handled, do something about it. Of course, I'm not asking that you hurt anyone in the process! But it's YOUR country, not the government's. There are plenty of *positive* things you can do to make a noticeable difference in your next of the woods.
If the US had stepped aside, Europeans like yourself would most likely be under a dictatorship right now. Either that, or the USSR would rule the world with nuclear power to back it up.
The trick is to find the right place to draw the line. It shouldn't be about nation-building or indoctrination. It should be about protecting freedom and democracy.
I guarantee you that the next time some terrorist blows something up, be it with a nuke or a hand grenade, the world will turn to the US and say "You knew about this, you - arguably the most powerful nation in the world - and you did nothing to stop it?!"
Get a removable IDE HDD conversion kit. Put one disk in your PC in a permanent mount. Put the other in the removable kit. Plug the removable HDD in periodically and dump your primary drive to the removable drive. Put the removable drive in a safe place -- just don't bump it too hard! Voila!
Why not buy two drives, make one internal, and slap a removable drive conversion kit on the other. Every so often, put the removable HDD in the computer, dump your internal drive to it, then remove it and store it in a safe place?
Anything wrong with that? Just be careful not to bump it too hard!
Well, he's trying not to get screwed. He uses Linux, so that's a good first step. Now he needs a good printer that won't screw him over and that will work with his nifty Linux system.

No, but we still spell the words pretty much the same way (with some notable exceptions, usually minor).

In addition to journaling, I believe XFS also allows you to create logical volumes from multiple disks with disk striping.
Like someone mentioned earlier . . .
Where's Geraldo when you need him? This would make a great episode! I can see the chairs flying now!
... and I only watched the last 5 minutes or so . . .
Robot proceeds forward through hole in door . . .
Excited Host Lady: Describe what's happening now for us!
Expert: The robot is proceeding forward through the hole in the door.
Excited Host Lady: Oooooo! Those look like hieroglyphics! Writing on the wall!
Expert: Cracks. Those are cracks.
. . . all of those socks that everyone's been losing in the dryer. The aliens have been stealing them for years!

No Ogg, no money from me. Sorry!

All depends on how old you are. Also depends of which atrocity you're remembering.

"I think any overt action by iraq is highly unlikely."
Do you suffer from short-term memory problems?
Today I am not thinking about the attacks. I am thinking about those who suffered at the hands of the attackers.
Today I am not thinking about the US response to the attacks. I am thinking about those who died innocently.
Today it is not about what I think, it is about what happened.
Today I remember.
Ask me your question tomorrow.
If you were in China, and you were speaking against the Chinese government, you'd be dead right now. Count your blessings. Cherish your rights.
