Archive grade CD-Rs exist at about $1.25 each. do a seach on MAM-A cd-r. Hopefully when the Blue ray disks come out they will have an archive grade version as well.
Isn't this one of the reasons that Microsoft has so many security issues? However, I agree that trying to get it perfect can drag a software project down *cough* Debian *cough*
This was like 6-7 years ago for a small telecom company. My spelling still sucks but, my attitude is less snobbish to the AOLers now that I'm older, wiser and have better understand how business works. Most of our audience was larger telecom companies that likely had their own internet connections. It sounds like AOL has gotten better (I'm surprised). I believe we tried that trick back then with less successful results.
Saving bandwidth is the only reason. It still a pain in the ass though. I found out the hard way when I though I was moving a website to a different IP address for the first time. I normally set the TTL to 7 days. So 7 day before the planned move I set the TTL to 1 hour. We switched the IP address and everthing was fine using ISP that followed DNS rules. AOL still had the address cached though. We didn't find out about teh problem with AOL right away. Our additude at the time was well screw the AOL users, there's no one importing using AOL anyways. I think it took a month before AOL finally updated to the right IP address. This definately makes it hard to do dns moves. At least with smtp you can add the mx record of the new server in advanced.
Just to point it out, most of the major plugins like flash, acrobat, java, quicktime, realplayer are all ones you have to download separately with IE as well . People the have IE, switch to Firefox and complain about the plugins not being there are forgetting that they had to do this in the past.
I remember a co-worker who got carpel tunnel used something similar to this. It was an ergonimics specialists send by the insurance compnay that brought it in for him. He claimed it did make a difference once he got use to it.
Well it sounds like he also did the equivilent of ripping the telephone pole out of the ground and sticking it in the middle of the interstate so more people could see his flyer.
Is the resistor mounted outside the case? Since the energy that is lost with a resistor is converted to heat energy it seem to partially defeat the purpose of the fan if it is mounted inside the case.
ah yes then the "hole puncher" conversion kit to make 720KB disks into 1.44MB disk came out. Personally I believe there artifical market reasons the DL DVD disks are still expensive. If the blank is $10 and the real one is $14.99 I;d rather get teh real one.
Bull, Redhat Enterprise 3 and Core 1 where release around the same time. Because Core 1 was released with so many problems I think its a very reasonable theory to say that most of Redhat Development and QA resources where put on Enterprise 3.
The kid can just give the ID to a classmate and ditch school. Damn, if your going to do something do it right. Strap an ankle braclet on them like the criminals they deserve to be treated like.
Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch! Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead. Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed. Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go, Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out. Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low. Let them know The Wicked Witch is dead!

Currently the going market price to dispose of them is between $5-$20 no matter what size it is. Many states have laws (Massachusetts and New Jersey are ones I'm aware of) that require that you dispose of them properly. This law would incure the cost up front to make sure there is no incentive for people to dump them on the side of the road to avoid paying a disposal cost.
ACtually wasn't there one of the "hacker challanges" a few years back that told you the root password. Over couse none of the services were run as root and root access was disabled from SSH.

Bugzilla is pretty widely used as well. We are about to switch over to it.

no, they're not, hey look something shiney
Very true. 802.11 was supposed to have certian range limitations however a few inventive guys with a pringles can blew that theory.

it took the release of the PCI-X spec to make it possible. AGP was designed for only one board
if you RTFA you'd know it was Samsung

I'd rather see internet access kept private. Then the FCC is less likely to get it paws on it and start thinking up reasons to censor it.

Or Epson. Lexmark has been evil too with its phone home spyware.
