  1. Deep Freeze on Tracking Changes to a Windows System? · · Score: 4, Informative

Doesn't 'track' anything per say, however, on each reboot, the machine goes back to the state it was before hand.

I use it at work, and give the employees limited access to specific folders, and have trained them to save their files in those few spots.

This way, only when they have approached me, and requested a particular application, i.e. winamp, excel, word, what have you they can have it installed and leave it permanently.

It's cut the spyware / adware / whatever to near zero. Webshots being the largest of the problem.

Anyways you can check out deep freeze at http://www.deepfreezeusa.com/index.htm

that time shaving happens, the article wasn't that well written or that well researched. Time 'Shaving' *is* expressly permitted by the FSLA (Fair Labor Standards Act) in the United States.

Being as that I have been in the center of a few payroll disputes, most recently as last week. I know that you can round time's to the nearest 15 minutes. As long as you do it consistently for each employee each week for non punchcard/computerized employee's you're fine.

You have to show clear consistency between each one, and time 'shaving' as it's called is allowed.

Also worth noting, So called 'overtime' does not apply to a *lot* of people. The article makes it sound that if you work 41 hours in any job you get overtime, which in the United States is wholly untrue.

Anyone working in an administrative capacity, does not rate overtime. If your company does pay you overtime, great.

So what? Just because they have a network card and some cabling does not necessarily mean they are hooked to anything but another computer in the building.

I don't believe the question here is 'how prone to hacking are these computers' I believe the question is, 'how strong is the firewall protecting them.'

That is of course assuming they are 1 connected to the internet, and 2 firewalled.

The county government here has one computer on the internet, and it's isolated from the other computers, i.e. not networked in with them.

He's wrong, He knows he's wrong, he knows he's gonna end up having to give up the name eventually. In the meantime however, he can look like some saviour to whatever community he chooses alliance with. Make no mistake, as is the American way, he's in it for the cold hard dollar that he can collect at the end of the day.

Take a look at his original distribution of 'Lindows', I was an 'insider' back then and I tested out the software. It had wine coupled with it so you could install office 2000 if you so desired, well the company's mission statement has changed obviously, because wine is no longer a part of the package.

It's all about the money, and that's all it's about. Which is fine with me, but what I don't get is why people play into it.

What we need is an intelligent judge or two to say 'hey, asshole you know what you're doing, you're just trying to siphon off the tit of someone who's actually made something of himself. Change your name or dissolve your company'

Keep in mind, I don't think bill gates is a god, but I don't believe he is the devil either. This is a simple case of Michael Robertson trying to Suckle on Bill Gates chest.
