Shortly followed by the next UFO sighting of their server flying out of the server rooms window in pain and anguish.
Actually what am I saying, when the hell was the last time you heard of a server room with a window, let alone enough people paying any attention to it at all to notify of a new UFO sighting.
What the hell version of Netscape are you using? I just had a quick glance at the source and there doesn't appear to be anything that should bring any worries to a decent browser. Though admittedly early NS' had all sorts of problems with anything related to a table.
I remember when I used to work for Ikea, Singapore in their electrical dept, we used to get about a customer a week bringing back their power transformer to fix, and in nearly every case there was a gecko and her nest of eggs residing within.
The first time I opened one of those puppies up and got savaged by those viscious little buggers I was surprised to say the least, considering they have no teeth, or claws, or any aggresive instincts whatsoever.
no, no, no, they did finish editing it, they just hadn't finished building some of the special effects, its kinda hard getting that futuristic cardboard wobble effect just right.
No, the idea of open source is the ability for you to say, fuck this tree, ill take all this code i want and deviate here and make my OWN tree, one with my patches and nothing i dont want!
Thing is, how many branches can the tree grow until we can no longer define it under the species PhyLinusthus acidus-flaxen Leaf. I sort of prefer there to be a set direction, it gives me a greater confidence in the product as a whole. I guess I'm just not overly convinced of a guarantee of future compatability between the branches.
Anyone who uses a piece of Open Source software is a developer of that software. It's the nature of Open Source software. That's the price you pay for using the software. The "user" is just as responsible for product quality as the author.
Keep this in mind when you want to submit a bug report. If you take a consumer mentality and simply say, "Feature x doesn't work like feature y does in program z," you will be ignored; as you deserve to be.
I agree with you to a certain extent, however a user of a piece of software is just that, a user. There should be no obligations to correct and manipulate the code to eventually suit the user, the user is there to use the softrware rather than working around the software. The software is the tool rather than the user being the bith.
I feel like I've been trolled but never mind, I just like to have suggestions, and their implementations being the beauty of life.
But the whole community of Linux is based on educating the user
Ahh, would this be the RTFM mantra?
Linux admins generally know what they don't know
Interesting, I've always wondered whether an exploit gets picked up publicly before a program exists to exploit it, or does the program generally exist first?
Damn I've got to learn how to program this shockwave stuff, that is pretty darn impressive demo. Shame the physics for the rocket launcher weren't included, might have spent more than a couple of minutes there then.

Why on earth would I need a pair of these glasses when I already have the perfect headache inducing piece of kit in this ?
I think later versions came with a free pack of aspirins.

I wonder if it can be considered racist that you feel the only people to read slash-dot are white, middle-class Americans?
Goddamn Windows 3.0 kicks the crap out of WinME.
WinME was only released to help give other OS' a foothold to help in Microsofts various monopoly lawsuits.
Mmmm, paperweight and an ant farm combo, nice, combine that with those lovely, sparkly coaster CD's and you've got a beautiful kitch desk.

I only see this useful for people who t y p e r e a l l y s l o w . . ...
Now, now don't mock, some of us have to type slow . . . . becuase of our bosses being such slow readers.
I'll get my coat.

And according to this VI is more popular than sex, proving that the computer is the geek's tool.

Wasn't there some issue with not being able to patch the DMCA for similar reasons?
I wonder at what point Chess matches between AI opponents reach this same impasse?
After about half a litre of vodka,or in computer terms, about Windows ME.
You mean the reporters name Thissisa Hoeks didn't give anything away? Though your investigative skills impressed me nonetheless.

Do you really think the world did not change after Kennedy was killed off?
Yes I do think the world changed, which is why I do not call it a tragedy, the goddamn corrupt excuse for a human being.
If he lived, how do you think the world might be different today?
Better gambling facilities probably, cheaper drugs?
Would Vietnam have lasted longer?
Could'nt have lasted much longer, given the beating the US was getting.
Would Nixon would have been elected and resigned?
Yes
