Of course they count. However the estiamated 1.5 million killed over the last 10 yrs by sanctions and the covert bombing of Iraq by UK and US forces shouldnt be forgotten either, should they?
this works in XP - not sure about 2K or 9X.
Go to c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf and remove all instances of the word "hide" from the file. Go to "Add/Remove....." and then the Windows Components section - you should now be able to uninstall all kinds of stuff.
It wasnt actually the Stones who sued - it was Andrew Loog Oldham, their old manager. The sample came from the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra version of The Last Time - he also owns a lot of the early stones recordings.
Richard H Kirk (ex Cabaret Voltaire) had a fantastic record on Warp years back (the name of which completely escapes me at the moment) and yes he is very old:)
What kind of cards are these? I really find it impossible to believe that you take 15 minutes to configure a windows display driver. Maybe you should find a windows tech who actually knows his stuff?
I upgraded 30 desktop PC's with various cards in them (Matrox G200/400, ATI Rage/Rage Pro, Nvidia Vanta, etc) to XP over the weekend - all of the boxes were ghosted using an image that was set up for the Vanta cards. On the first boot of each machine the correct graphics cards were detected and configured. Only the Rage Pro's required a reboot, oh and my dual monitor machine - an aging PCI Trident and an AGP vanta.
"So what happens to your competitive edge if you're forced to give out the secrets behind your product?"
Eh...... if you don't want to give them out then don't base your product on GPL'ed software - spend the time, money and effort to create your own proprietary code. It's as simple as that.
"The only thing that is holding linux back is games; we all know it. When all major games are released for linux we'll see some real uptake."
Sorry, but thats total crap.
Who do you expect to make the move to Linux exactly? Whether you like it or not most "regular" users don't care about browser wars, DOJ cases and all the rest of it - they just want their internet, mail, MSN, games, etc. Certainly in my experience I have never met one of these "I just want it to work dammit" types who would ever have the patience to deal with a terminal.
Driving regular users to Linux will not happen by matching everything that XP/OSX and the rest can do, but by giving regular users another use to their boxes that the competition doesn't have.
In case you hadnt noticed there is a total of 5 pieces of gaming software that can be purchased from the transgaming store.
Transgaming's main business is WineX - a piece of software that allows some Windows binaries to run under linux - this is entirely different from Loki who ported games to Linux.
I currently have a transgaming subscription and while it is very nice to play a handful of games properly under linux there still isnt enough supported games to get rid of my Windows partition.

"all they see is Springer"
Is that the name you and your g/f use for the strap-on?
To poison the filters you have in place?
"Linux doesn't come with Windows Media Player, or winamp, why should windows come with other people's shit."
Kernels dont tend to ship with media players do they? But I think you'll find most distributions ship with multiple media players....

Its called "No Life 'Till Leather" and has been floating around on suprnova for a while now if you want to bring back old memories.

Or is it maybe that most of Microsofts targets are running Linux that also makes them targets of SCO?
Service packs do not patch virus infected machines. The whole point of them is to patch any exploits on the machine BEFORE it gets infected.
Anyway, if you have a internet facing machine of any OS comprimised and dont wipe it and start again then your several kinds of idiot.

The difference is usually down to mono v stereo encoding which makes a big difference at low bitrates.
I don't think there was PCMCIA as standard on the A1000 or A500 - IIRC it started with the 600/1200

"It's almost impossible to get people to install linux when they could be playing BF1942 or C&C:Generals instead"
Surely the point of LAN parties is to play games and swap pr0n?
Home users are not going to jump to linux for games until there is a respectable selection of games that are easy to configure.

"However, I have highlighted passages in books in case I wanted to return to them later... does an ebook let me do that?"
My eBook reader on my lovely little iPAQ 3850 lets my highlight and bookmark text for review later.
Pocket PC 2002 is very nice indeed, but when you get bored with it you can go to www.handhelds.org and move on to better things
Poke is still used throughout Scotland as slang for "bag". Oh, and thats British English, not English English.....
oh yeah - mod the parent down while the grandparent denigrates the efforts of our fine irish community
Slashdot - news for WASPS, stuff that matters.....
The XP control panel changes ARE cosmetic. There is an option in Control Panel (and not hidden either) that allows you to use the "classic" view.
Just like every other change to the UI in XP, it can be set back to the original (95-2k) look.
It would be interesting to see the statistics for gun crime and gun related accidents in the US.
I would guess (please prove me wrong if possible) that most of the incidents would happen at home and have nothing to do with these pesky criminals.
Also, you do realise that violent crime in your country has dropped year on year in the last 10 years? So why exactly do you need all this weaponry?
