The Ogg/Vorbis codec that allows me to play local .ogg files doesn't seem to allow streaming, or perhaps WMP is not aware of ogg streaming.....

  3. 'Perfect Creation' vs Created with 'Free Will' on The Eye: Evolution versus Creationism · · Score: 1

Hmm, if you're the creator of all things and you're perfect how can you create something that in not perfect?

Key words: "free will". If you want a bunch of people to have relationships with, it's gotta be out of 'free will'. 'Free will' is not 'free will' if there are no viable alternatives. To have actual relationships with people, you don't want mere robots. No-one wants that in a relationship. To achieve this, God has to allow people to choose between Him and a life without Him. There has to be a viable (or seemingly viable) alternative. The alternative has to be equally as tempting, I guess, otherwise it's like asking someone whether they want to eat pie or dirt (not really a viable alternative). So that is perhaps why a perfect God had to create man as he did.

Think about your own relationships. Would you want someone to act like they love you because you pay them or because they have to? Or would you rather they choose to love you? God gives each person enough hints to find and choose Him, without forcefully bursting in on your life. Anyone who truly seeks Him will find Him.

BTW, to all you people who think Adam and Eve ate the apple, the bible never said that! Read the first few chapters of Genesis if you don't believe me.

I had huge issues upgrading SuSE 8.2 to SuSE 9.0 on my laptop. According to Yast2 the upgrade went ok, yet KDE wouldn't work at all and many other things were screwed. I clean install was the only fix.

My desktop has had Debian for years, and all upgrades have gone great (except for when *I* did stupid things). Apt-get is a reliable and safe method to safely upgrade to the next release, and even downgrade (e.g. from Sid back to Stable). This is something that the SuSE team cannot match as yet.

Is there a generic list somewhere of bad urls to block on a proxy/firewall? Not that it would contain all the urls of known malware, but a good starting point. We have a firewall built into our router that blocks ports, urls, and even filters keywords. The main culprits I see install are searchbars.

I liked the movie F9/11, but one thing that concerned me was the guy who had always voted republican, who said he is now going to be very vocal for the democrats. People need to think outside of the square, instead of flip-flopping between the two parties. There is ample evidense that both parties have screwed the country in some way when it was their turn to rule. Each will continue to do so in each's own turn in power. Perhaps a third or fourth option is needed, otherwise the same one party will get in power when the other in unpopular, and so on, rinse and repeat...
