    The whole architecture was build upon the premise that the core is only accessable via the code morphing software, so the different crusoe chips hadnt even binary compatible cores.

    But yes, its not that easy. And yeah, at least in earth orbit, solar wind dominates over photon pressure. Also, the interstellar medium would be a much too big drag factor.

    word by word, was told years ago with the arival of ps2 and than x-box:

    "Who would want a 400$ GeForce 3 if you can get an xbox for the same price".

    I think the result this time will be the same than last time.
    For some stuff, consoles are better, for some, PCs.
    But killed off will be neither.

    While you were looking at their site, you may have noticed the "softsynx fights hackers" news item giving a hint about the "mystery program".

    And btw: they make money by selling ingame currency (something you would have found if you had really looked), and IIRC the korean equivalent isnt free of montly charge and was widely successfull 5 years ago or so)

    If you actually READ what the update does, you would realize that its a anti cheating software that checksums the programm (actually, you can see it at startup before the main exe is run).
    And that you cant delete the program folder: smarty, you installed an update as administrator, OF COURSE a user cant delete the files... i suggest get them off the way you got them on...

    And yeah, because NOBODY would have detected a trojan that is installed by a game with >100.000 players...

    But you forget that with electricity or hydrogen, its trivial to adopt any new kind of available energy source (be it fusion, tital generators, photovoltaics, whatever) without the need for everybody to get a new car.

    While gas cars will need gas no matter what happens.

    Yeah, they get hot... when discharging. And the discharge when the decive they power is in use. And only then.

    Your nukelear powered laptop would heat itself to meltdown even when not in use and tighly packed, simply because you cant turn of nuclear decay.

    (plus the emitted heat is at least twice the actuall power rating of the batterie because of efficiency issues)

    If you want to see what happens, just put a 80W lightbulb in you bed, apply blanket and wait some time.

    Care to elaborate how this wonder capacity should come from?
    My basic chemistry (and (molecular physics)) just kinda fails me when trying to justify that kind of capacity.

    And the way you write you posting complete with CAPITALS because its SO IMPORTANT!!!!!11111, bullshit statements of pseudoscience, ect, i think i dont have to visit that site to know thats in the same real as those perpetuum mobile fans from japan, the antigravity over superconucting discs, ect.

    Well, but excitons arent "normal" electron/hole pairs, but bound systems, which behave quite differently than the "free" positive and negatic charge carriers.

    Some people from the german wikipedia thought it might be a good idea to sell the wikipedia for 20 on dvd.
    And managed to get to no on the amazon.de software charts.
    That much to the (always and often) voiced question about who would pay for something that could be get on the net for free.

    Isnt that all in the basic HID usb drivers?
    I for my part never installed ANY drivers for keyboard or mouse, but the "page forward/back" buttons of the mouse worked at once.
    The same with my new usb keyboard... plugged in... "new HID-usb device found", after that the volume control buttons/program shortcut buttons worked at once.

    At least its not quite as bad.
    The 500$/kg is for semiconductor grade gallium (99.9999% pure).
    As the used material should be a gallium alloy (to make is liquid at 20C), purity should not be an issue, so industrial grade gallium for 150$/kg can be used.

    Each his own...
    I personaly find trackpads absolutely unbearable.

    Even normal curser movement is a pain, and drag and drop with that damn things is near impossible for me.

    So i always have a mouse in my notebook-bag.

    Interesting to see that all the sony fanboys dont want to out themself.
    Hint: posting as AC automatically reduces your credibility to about 10% of what it would normaly be if it isnt justified (leaking insider stuff, breaking NDA,ect)

    Cross financing is absolutely normal and fine.
    You could also whine that sony financed their battle against sega and nintendo with the billions made by selling TVs and walkmen...

    Just a reminder: abuse of monopoly would be if microsoft gave large discount for an xbox with each windows liscense, or somethink like that.

    Its a tripple core chip, running at 3.2Ghz. This alone suggests a different build than any other ppcs (espeically the 970s/g5s). IIRC, each core is slimmer than a G5, only dual issue scalar, but with a dual SIMD vector unit.
    I would say itd best to descripe as "new chip based on ppc", because it doesnt really have much in common with either g3,g4 or g5.

    In fact that makes those diode lasers the most efficient light emitting decives in the world.

    I remember (not sure if correctly) calculations that showed you need IMMENSE amounts of energy for everything much larger than a planck space.

    Something in the order years or sun-output for even microscopic wormholes.

    So I dont think its shortsighted.
