Nanotech is wonderful in its potential and all, but I seem to recall hearing of a study recently that said that exposure to nanotech products can drastically increase cancer risks. Does anyone out there know where that study can be found?
Most people complain about how this drive or RAM disks are completely wiped out by a power loss, but couldnt that also be used as a great security feature. If you have alot of data that you dont want someone (read: The Government) getting their hands on or taking as evidence, just keep it on a drive protected by a UPS, then if you need to wipe it out quickly and completely, just pull the plug. Or if a few lovely FBI agents come and take your computer, they do it for you.

Here's an interesting article from a month or two back in wired. True story about some kids from MIT breaking Vegas.
If you are ever in desperate need of something fun to do (as I often am), or maybe self torture, try going to alienware and building yourself the most crazy pimped out 3 screen DV Machine you can.
Then look at the price. Over 19000. One can only dream.

Just because the government says something is wrong, doesnt make it wrong. Just because we think taking away our own freedoms might prevent more violence, doesnt mean we should strip ourselves of that which we (I) value most.
Do you think that the American Revolution could have happened under the PATRIOT act? The Homeland Security Act?
We need just as much security as it takes to insure that another revolution CAN happen IF we need it to.
"This shootdown shifts the paradigm for defensive capabilities. We've shown that even an artillery projectile hurtling through the air at supersonic speed is no match for a laser,"
Right. No match when its a highly simplified test and there arent a few different sources of artillery shells firing AT the Laser. Please, this means nothing in a practical sense.
nobody buys stock because they believe in the company that they are buying stocks in. They just buy stock because they think they are going to make money out of somebody elses hard work.
Sure there are mindless drones out there, mearly following anylysts "leads" and speculate based purely on market hype, but getting rich and believing in the company in which you are invested is FAR from seperate. You may perhaps have heard of Warren Buffet, once the wealthiest man in america and certainly richer than any person could ever really imagine being. He got there by ONLY investing in companies which he understands, and in which he believes. Ive got to say that has always turned out pretty well for him, as he ended up looking fairly precient by avoiding the overinflated tech market of the late 90's.
I always love to pay more and get less too! And here I thought I was the only one. Why pay 100 for a gameboy advance when I can pay a few hundred for something to do a shitty version of the same job?
The 90% of the Population who have no idea whatsoever what Voice over IP is, much less what a port is (is that where i plug in my mouse? hehe) issued this statement: "So?".
I Considered submitting this story 2 days ago when I first got the Alpha build, but was afraid of possible legal repercussions. Was I wrong to be afraid, is there not a reasonable chance of getting in trouble for admitting in a VASTLY public forum that I am in possesion of such contraband? Running a P4 1.9ghz with a Gforce3 64mb videocard and 512megs of RDRAM im getting about 15-20 fps. What I find most interesting is the ability to add your own lights, but whenever I do so, I get about 5fps if im lucky.

PanIP first sued about 10 small online merchants in March. That, by the way, was the month PanIP was incorporated.
Its wonderful to see how the American way rewards hard work and Lawsuits.

Mechacide is when I start twitching and punch a hole through my monitor when my computer crashes... in the middle of my midterm paper.
Yet another wonderful invention to have all our fun for us! Woohoo!
I can already see where "feeling" holograms will lead. The dont call it the worlds oldest profession for nothing.

I think that the key is that they can't do those things AND drink until they're 21.
And it magically becomes ok to mix these with liquor after age 21?
