Nanotech is wonderful in its potential and all, but I seem to recall hearing of a study recently that said that exposure to nanotech products can drastically increase cancer risks. Does anyone out there know where that study can be found?

  2. Great Idea on DIY Bluetooth Headset And Other Inventions · · Score: 3, Funny

A cordless headset is really important too, since my cell phone is so BIG that its hard to carry around with me. Right.

  3. Security on Hard Drive of the Future: Ram Drive · · Score: 5, Interesting

Most people complain about how this drive or RAM disks are completely wiped out by a power loss, but couldnt that also be used as a great security feature. If you have alot of data that you dont want someone (read: The Government) getting their hands on or taking as evidence, just keep it on a drive protected by a UPS, then if you need to wipe it out quickly and completely, just pull the plug. Or if a few lovely FBI agents come and take your computer, they do it for you.

    "When in doubt, don't."

"We enact many laws that manufacture criminals, and then a few that punish them."
    Allen Tucker

Just because the government says something is wrong, doesnt make it wrong. Just because we think taking away our own freedoms might prevent more violence, doesnt mean we should strip ourselves of that which we (I) value most.

Do you think that the American Revolution could have happened under the PATRIOT act? The Homeland Security Act?

We need just as much security as it takes to insure that another revolution CAN happen IF we need it to.

"This shootdown shifts the paradigm for defensive capabilities. We've shown that even an artillery projectile hurtling through the air at supersonic speed is no match for a laser,"

Right. No match when its a highly simplified test and there arent a few different sources of artillery shells firing AT the Laser. Please, this means nothing in a practical sense.

nobody buys stock because they believe in the company that they are buying stocks in. They just buy stock because they think they are going to make money out of somebody elses hard work.

Sure there are mindless drones out there, mearly following anylysts "leads" and speculate based purely on market hype, but getting rich and believing in the company in which you are invested is FAR from seperate. You may perhaps have heard of Warren Buffet, once the wealthiest man in america and certainly richer than any person could ever really imagine being. He got there by ONLY investing in companies which he understands, and in which he believes. Ive got to say that has always turned out pretty well for him, as he ended up looking fairly precient by avoiding the overinflated tech market of the late 90's.
