  2. My new overpowered, offline, BD-Player. on Ask Slashdot: How Should Sony Compensate PSN Users? · · Score: 1

I'd like some Blu-Ray's. Because that's what my PS3 just became, an offline BD-Player. It's not the fact that my information was compromised, something that nobody can claim they can protect perfectly. It's at risk anywhere I use it. It's what they did that started this. I am by no means a Microsoft Fan Boy, but when their Windows 7 phone got compromised, they invited the team who jailbroke it to Redmond, all expense paid, and sat down and had a pow-wow with the group that did it. They all got the royalty treatment, and the shirts that said "I hacked the Windows 7 phone and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" was a riot. What Microsoft did was classy. I don't condone terrorism at all, but that's what whoever is attacking Sony is doing. They are being Digital Terrorists. In the end, I hope the corporate world looks at this and adds to their mission statement. "We will not fuck with our customers".

He got caught, he got banned. He even admitted that he was watching tv while using his macro keyboard! Comon guy.. Go buy yourself a new account and start over.. 7. Sometimes software just doesn't jive on Symantec Competing Unfairly Against Spybot? · · Score: 1

Are there any 'for-profit' companies that get posted about on slashdot that people dont flame? Here's a likely scenerio: Symantec gets 2 or 3 calls a month out of maybe 5 to 10 thousand of corrupt images. They get a hold of the images and find it's the same corruption in each file, and the common software installed on each image is Spybot. They cant reproduce the problem in house and their customers are demanding answers. So they make a statement. I'm sure this scenerio has happened to plenty of other companies, but since were talking about the 4th largest software company in the world, we'll bash them. I have worked in Tech Support for a software company for 10 years. The crap that you see from the inside is amazing.. Sometimes you just gotta say 'We dont jive well with this other software package so dont use them together'. it's just the breaks.

Slow? Hell, we don't have a 2.2 Ghz machine in the office even - we just bought a brand-spanking new Dell laptop (our first new computer purchase in a while) and it's only a 2 Ghz machine.
Well, we are in an age where you can spend 500 dollars at dell.com and get a 3 ghz machine with a 19 inch flat panel monitor. I just dont see what this guy is trying to prove.. All I get from this is 'Open Office has more realistic minimum requirements then MS office', which doesn't seem like a very scentific metric.
