There is some validity to your point. However you underime this project and all honey pots/nets when you say they are not a line of defense. They provide very valuable information that then goes into that line. Not to mention if you have a Decoy (one configured exaclty as the real and thought to be secure, except it has no valuable data) honey machine that gets hacked before your production one is. You now know how to prevent the intrider from attacking the real machine.

Its the fact that LoTR series has been made into Motion Pictures that is rasing the sales of the books. Maybe if some of his other works were made into TV series (not sure how well that would work) or also motion pics then his other works would sell.

It should be noted though that the sales of his other books have risen. They obviously just havn't sold as much as the LoTR series.

All these gadets look really cool, but I can't justify buying a new one every year, or even every 2 years ( I can jsutify 2 years with a PC). I just always feel left in the dust and like by the time I can get a new one, I'll have missed out one something good. Or maybe just get in on something better.

If spammers cover their tracks then they can't be taxed. Just go after the spammed products that are advertised. This would stop spam at the source.

That wouldn't work. I know many don't view large drug companies as being very ethical. However, I doubt a company the likes of Pfizer needs to use spam to sell Viagra. They probabbly didn't need to spend 1$ to sell it for that matter. Yet, I we all know that we get a few of these messages a day. Sure many are for a bunch of unknown products that may or may not be directly tied to the spamer, but you would still have to go after the spamer or the person employing them and the products THEY sold.
