    Based on this article [slashdot.org] it would seem that Sony does not people modding thier robot dog. So is that article the latest word or has Sony wisened up?

    I can't think of any corporation that has applied the same rules to Govt. Agencies/Police Depts. as they do the general public. That would be down right foolish.

    till not usefulful enough to warrent the $1400 price tags.

    I'll have to disagree with you there. $1400 isn't much at all if this tecnology works the way they would like it to. I think you should reserve your griping about cost when the project is over with. That price seems highly conservative IMO. That is much less than what it takes to train and support a Real dog. However, replacing real dogs is not something I see happening anytime soon.

    to lttile too late. However, this move doesn't even classify as "too little". There has to be some other underlying reason to move to block e-mail for this one group of internet users, because it clearly isn't going to put a dent in the spam that AOL users receive daily. There are MANY service providers that do a much better job at spam blocking than AOL, why is it about them that keeps them from getting it right? Or are they secretly selling e-mail addresses?

    It is still one of the best ways to shop for just about anything. I apply to this to computers and other products alike. Brose around the web and find real user testemonials, ask friends and co-workers, so on. Then once I narrow the choices down based on all of that I check it out in person.

    So....A "street-legal" gun is one that can only shoot 10 people in about 15 seconds or less? What street would this be? Then again this is being developed in south africa. I guess even warlords have to keep their goons under a tight leash.

    Why won't it help them? Let me quote from the article:

    I know one of the reasons family members of mine left was because of the spam. Its insane the crap that gets through to an AOL account. With young members of the family using the accounts it was intollerable. Instead of trying to make money in ways, how about fixing some of the issues with the service and maybe the userbase won't fall. Before long you may start getting new users again. *sigh*

    After years of touting its own UltraSparc processors as sufficient for all manner of computing, Sun last year bowed to market realities and accepted general-purpose Intel-compatible computers into its server line.

    I *think* I know how the market will respond to this as far as AMD is conccernd, I'll be keeping an eye on what this does/means for sun.

    I agree, and also, if DOOM III's pending relase was such an important part of this Video cards release, why didn't they get an early copy to show us some screenshots of Doom III with this video card?
