Iron ore? where? Must find Ore! Never mind the giant beast waiting to slay my party members, never mind the cliff I just fell off. I MUST have that iron!
As far as backwards comaptibility goes, the last generation of Nintendo's consoles switched from the cartridges to the disc format. They would have had to add in the cartridge connector and then designed a software emulator that ran on top of the GC hardware. Another option might have been a device like the gameboy player that just attached to the bottom of the gamecube and was actually more like a n64 than anything else. However, they seem to have decided to discontinue production of the games for N64 so a device like this would be practically useless.
and there are thousands of scientists who have signed a petition stating that the evidence for global warming is not convincing. More research and less "oh my gosh! we are bad bad bad people who will kill everything! Hug trees! Hug trees! Love mother earth" crap needs to be done.
Yes we are dumping a lot of CO2 and other crap into the atmosphere, water, land and while I would expect it to have some kind of consequence that doesn't mean it is nearly as bad as some scientists are claiming it will be.
nah, our laws just keep us from going that fast. The speed limits are lower and the requirements for driving are easier to pass. It costs us less than 300 dollars total to take any classes we need and get the drivers license. Whereas last I heard in Germany it is much more expensive. Add to that the lower fuel prices here and you are looking at a much larger selection of the population driving, including more "dangerous" teenage drivers.
What about STDs? And anyways, vasectomies aren't necessarily permanent (check out an earlier comment where someone mentioned they had their third kid after a vasectomy)
Actually it depends on the what you are buying. Oftentimes the land is sold, but not the mineral rights, or water rights. If you really want to own the land all the way down, you have to be sure your contract specifies those things.

by allowing them to live longer more productive lives how likely is it that they will infect more people than they would otherwise?
good grief, look at how tiny that thing is. Nevermind sleep and bathroom requirements, how can he stand being stuck in that tiny can of an airplane for 80 hours?
sadly I can't find the link, but I have read that in an area of northern germany where they have large windfarms they have also seen a dramatic change in the moisture level of the air. Apparently, by using up some of the kinetic enegry of the wind they are making it more difficult for the rain and moisture from the ocen to get there. Sadly, I can no longer find a reference to this, and so I can not use it to any great effect. My point in bringing it up is that while wind power does seem to be one of the best "green" power sources, it may not be as environmentally friendly as we think. Until we can get some good data and larger tests we won't know for sure though.
I hope you do not expect women to have those same characteristics. While they do tend to be portable, and some may consider them to be "low power," you may never find one that is "quiet."
If you wanted more people to come to your country and visit, would you pay someone to look for underwater ruins somewhere else? Of course, that doesn't mean you can't be skeptical, but just because someone pays for research doesn't mean good results are ALWAYS fake. Not everything is a conspiracy....
Or is this part of the conspiracy too? I hope so, I need the cash!
From what I've read these "extended editions" are not being called "Director's Cut" for a reason. Jackson is happy with the Theatrical Versions, but he is doing these releases for the fans, for those who wanted more. Back when the first Extended Edition came out I read, in several places, that He wasn't doing this because he didn't like the Theatrical cut. Anyone have a good quote to the contrary?
The real problem is that people will say to themselves "what a jerk, he was too busy watching a movie to answer the phone and come to mother's deathbed for her last words" or something along those lines. The problem, so many others have stated already is that people feel you not only can be connected 24/7 these days but that you SHOULD be. Anyone who isn't "in" is a loser and in this case, a deliberate jerk.
We need better social attitudes (and less judgemental insanity) before any of this will get better. Sadly I don't think we can install judgemental idiot blockers around the theaters.
Well, in my experience there are people who also seem to be incapable of noticing that YES it is THEIR phone and who will then leave it ringing for a minute or two.
Especially when the professor starts out the semester by stating that no cell phones should be turned on in his/her class and then to have a cell phone or two go off every day is quite annoying to me. Why not put it on vibrate? Or turn it off? Aren't we supposed to be paying attention to the professor's lecture? It is fairly rare that the phone call is an actual emergency, the few times I have noticed people answering the phone it has been for something like "what are we doing tonight."
Yes it is a lack of respect thing. Whiel I should be able to ignore a cell phone, they should also have the courtesy to turn it off/silence it for a lecture.
Wow, enough money for an Archos and an Ipod? What do you do for a living that gives you the disposable income to own both of those and not seem bitter about the fact that the Archos is hard for you to use?
I was reading about this a few years ago, the problems included A) materials strong enough to maintain their shape at the high speeds required B) motors cable of extracting this energy being placed in the wheels (size, materials, etc) C) the HEAVY weight of these motors making it difficult to push the car around D) the heavy weight of the motors also making it difficult to manufacture the near frictionless bearings one would need and E) the heavier the wheels, the mor energy you can generate, the lighter the wheels the les: so if you want a good source of power they HAVE to be heavy.
One of the other ideas was to not use Regenaritive breaking at all, but to insted simply use a very large flywheel in the bottom of the car as a "battery" and use the spin to generate the electricity. However, unless you have two fly wheels stacked on top of each other and spinning opposite directions the force generated by the constantly spinning wheel would act as a gyroscope of sorts and pull the car funny directions when attempting to steer.

he was living off of paypal donations until he got hired by valve. I wonder if he has been let go now?
Is it pausing at the layer change? I hear sonys tend to be bad at layer changes but not that bad.

Looks like 76 days each way, but with advances would only be a 3 month round trip
As long as your application is not a game or somethign designed to run on a desktop (as this is not a Desktop Replacement) you should be fine. :-P

Yes iron oxide and aluminum form thermite....good old anarchist's cookbook.......and Freshman Chem!
Last I heard they were released in Australia, and the guy who was talking about them loved the display.
This has actually become a problem in part of europe (germany maybe?) Wind power is not as great as it seems http://www.countryguardian.net/case.htm
