  1. I was actually asking a serious question... on How Hot Would a Light Saber Really Be? · · Score: 5, Funny

I submitted this as a serious question 24 hours ago (or so). Just my luck, the only time my question gets accepted its april fools, and the whole site is pink! LOL

  2. YOU NEED MY CREDIT CARD??? on Glide File Sharing Service Debuts · · Score: 5, Insightful

What kind of legitimate service needs my credit card information to "verify" the details of my registration? I thought to myself, yeah, this sounds cool...give them my usual false info...then BANG...Please give us your credit card information even though you have selected the free account...We promise that no bad hackers can get your personal information... Whatever...these bozos wont last long... I use everything GOOGLE all day long, and they have never EVER asked me for my credit card.

  3. My DVD thinks I am a criminal on Former Apple Exec Speaks Against DRM · · Score: 3, Insightful

What I really like is that how you go out and fork over $20 for a new DVD, then as soon as you put it in the player you are forced to watch a short video telling you such crap as "You wouldn't steal toys, you wouldn't steal shoes, why would you steal a movie?" I own the stupid thing, and they make me so mad I rip a copy just to get rid of their garbage. And by the way, "Own it now!" is their line...so I guess if we own it, we can do what we want with it...

And we Canadians are too arrogant and stupid to bother keeping our armed forces up to date that we will lose all of our northern resources to whoever comes knocking. Even a troop of Russian boy scouts are better equiped than our navy... Sucks to be us, but that what happens when you vote Liberal Liberal Liberal....Liberal at all cost....God forbig we vote for a conservative party....that is like humping the devil!!!

  7. Risk your life for Garbage?? on Discovery Prepares for Return · · Score: -1, Flamebait

Why would anyone risk their lives to return Garbage to the earth??

What foolish nonsense. Send it into the sun, or into a "burning" orbit.

  8. Who cares on Columbine Student on VG Violence · · Score: 0, Troll

Who cares what some bozo with hiw own blog thinks... Just becuase he went to that high-school doesn't mean his an all-of-a-sudden-expert on the impact of violent games on our youth. I play violent games, but not the disturbing ones. I get disturbed when part of the game involves hurting innocent people. Hurting the bad guy? Go for it. If we can't be honourable in our play, can we really be expected to be honourable in our lives?

  11. Sure, but how fast can you save your data? on Researcher Only High Bandwidth Network · · Score: 3, Insightful

I haven't seen too many disk sub-systems out there that can store data faster than 640 Mbits per second. Will 10Gbit per second really be that useful? Maybe I am wrong...

  12. Just like an added tax to blanks on Suing Your Customers a Good Idea? · · Score: 5, Interesting

This sounds too much like what happens in Canada, where an extra fee is included in the price of most blank media. This fee is SUPPOSED to be re-distributed to the artists, but it rarely is. It is just another case of assuming people are only interested in copying music, never anything else like actual backups, or even recording your own music. Bunch of bozos.

  13. What on earth do you need insurance for? on Anatomy of a LAN Party? · · Score: 0, Flamebait

  14. Windows = Dead End on Miguel de Icaza Debates Avalon with an Avalon Designer · · Score: -1

Why even waste your time at all on a dead end OS such as Windows? Think of the wasted BILLIONS pumped into one of a thousand projects they have on the burners (front and back). Think of the OS that could have been, if they were not bent on ruling every single aspect of the tech world.

  15. No drug tests required on Internet Chess Club Security Defeated · · Score: 0

Chess is about the only sport out there that isn't susceptible to performance enhancing drugs, or blood doping. But it is really annoying to play against people who end up being computer programs.

  20. Money is the heart of the matter on Microsoft Outsourcing High-Level Work · · Score: -1

It just goes to show you that Microsoft is only interested in making as much money as possible, in whatever way they can. The worlds largest company, flagship of US captitalism, but not interested in keeping the jobs at home. How unpatriotic of them.

  25. Why developers irk us admin types on The Rise and Rise of IT Administrators · · Score: 1

I used to be a developer, now I am a DBA. I am one of these fierce pit-bulls that stands in the way of "progress" from the developers point of view. I am vicious, and will bite your hand off right up to the elbow if you get too close. Why am I like this? Because the production system that I am in charge of generates over 1.5 billion dollars in revenue. When fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants developers slam something together, it is usually a big huge piece of crap that impacts the system in a very bad way. When this happens, the money loses cash. Period. There is a new breed of software developers, at least in the Micro$oft world, that cut their programming teeth on VB6. They do not understand formal testing processes, they do not understand quality assurance. One guy told me yesterday that if the GUI responds within 29 seconds, that is good enough because the user said that 30 seconds is too long. What rubbish. When I was a C programmer 7 years ago, our concern was quality, speed, accuracy etc. Now it seems they are only interestes in slamming crap together just so they can move on to another project. So don't you dare say that we admins are slowing things down. It is your own crappy software development skills that is to blams.
