    Okay, I realise that I'm being terribly picky but I've seen this so many times its just beginning to really wind me up.

    The word is you're. Notice it contains an apostrophe and an e on the end. Not difficult really, but it seems to cause so many people on here a problem. Just because we are geeks/nerds doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to write correct English, does it?

    Not everyone is a coder. Some people just want to use free software. Once you start down the road of forcing people to contribute it is no longer free software in the real sense. So, if people wish to contribute with bug reports/code thats cool. If they just want to use the software, thats cool too.

    Damn right. I avoid overtime at all costs. I leave when my hours are done regardless of what I'm in the middle of doing. Of course... I then go home and code for 6 hours. But that's different... ain't it? ;)

    Amen to that. I don't earn an awful lot here in the UK, but you'd have to pay me a hell of a lot just to consider going to the US to work. FBI taking your fingerprints when you join a company? No thank you.

    Its funny, but this kinda of thing doesn't happen as much in countries with a lower crime rate. I'm not saying its the answer, or the sole reason for this kind of thing, but it is certainly a factor.

    Yeah, okay. Perhaps I was a little more colourful (excuse the pun) with my language than I should have been. Its been a long... erm.. month. Anyway, my point stands and I'm glad you agree. Its nasty. Its so in your face its ridiculous. And it'll sell like hotcakes. There a whole bunch of people out there with absoloutely no taste whatsoever... ;)

    PHP3 is released under the GPL, so PHP4 has to be too

    I was under the impression that the copyright holder can issue the source under whatever license they choose. Previous releases have no relevance. Of course, this only applies to the code which they own the copyright too. I'd assume that patches had been submitted to PHP 3.0 with other copyrights. This would complicate matters I guess.
