good point. I wonder how many people out there are screaming about boycotting the RIAA and the record companies but still give them money by using RoadRunner.
I think everyone is looking into this way too much. Just because the PS3 will support Blu Ray discs does not mean the game makers will use this technology to make/distribute thier games. Look at the PS2 for example, it supports Dual Layer DVD discs, yet there is only a handful of DL-DVD games out there(i.e GTA San Andreas). Just because the technology is there does not mean it will be fully utilized.
I am not sure we are getting the full story here. I think he obviously did something to trip up the MPAA and cause the to play the "patriot act card". I am not saying the MPAA or the FBI is right for what they are doing but he must have done something to get thier attention.
I am not. Perhaps for once a game will be released with decent code and does not require "the best of the best" with decent code I am sure many games could run with 384 megs of RAM.
I will have to agree with you on that one. I got my 451S for $20 off at Best Buy a while back. I think the average PC users tend to look past Lite-On because it is still not a well known brand, so consumers think is an off brand. They would prefer to buy the Sony or Pioneer drive. Which is why it is on sale more often.
I have been a HUGE supporter of Lite-On drives for quite a while for this very reason. They are notorious for being easily flashed to higher read/write speeds with out any issues. I pity those fools who pay top dollor for $ony drives when they could just buy the exact same drive from Lite-On for a lot less.
I find this hard to believe. Most GM vehicles with DRLs could be disabled by a switch that resides in the E-brake assembly...very common on most cars. Very common knowledge as well.
1. Bad burns. Who do you go to if you get a bad copy? Can you get a refund? 2. Who maintains the file server that the vending machine uses. I am sure a rouge CompUSA employee could easily throw a virus or two on the ISOs. 3. How do you get the CD key? 4. Who wants to stand there and wait for a CD to burn? 5. I hope they use a damn good burner, most will wear out rather quickly.
I have to agree with you. I also have the DirecTivo and it beats buying a TiVo seperately. First you have to pay up to $250 for a stand alone TiVo the $14.95 a month for the service. With DirecTV you pay $99 for the TiVo Sat receiver and an extra $4.95 a month. Best deal out there!

I am an SBC subscriber as well.
So after you down load them you can load them into any audio editor and remove the adverts but you still have a low quality mp3...hmmm

Of course to the typical /. poster, any girl talking about robots is hot.

Insert Lite-On dive into the bay.
why would he want to go swimming?
I stand corrected.

Think of all the things that could go wrong...
1. Bad burns. Who do you go to if you get a bad copy? Can you get a refund?

Not a sermon, just a thought.

why not start your own Linux Distro? just a thought...
More security fixes and the ability to reload the source view...nice.
