hmm... I would suggest you post as Anonymous if you're going to post crap like this. Not sure if you're dumb or lying, but either way, you should have posted anonymously.
It has been time for a new registrar for a while now if $$$ is an issue. Usually, when monopoly power is lost, the former monopolist is forced to compete. NSI chose not to. Several competitors sprung up, many with better services and extremely lower prices. NSI neither lowered their prices nor increased their service level. Other than the name, there is no reason at all to stay with them unless you like paying 3x-10x the price for less service.
I bought a used VHS copy of Dark Star from my local video store about half my life ago. They had 2 and nobody rented it except for me and my friends, so it was a no-brainer for him to sell it to me.
I've always wondered if Ray Bradbury saw the movie and got pissed about the ending that is completely ripped off from one of his short stories.
As one of those unfortunate domain addicts, I have an over-abundance of domain names. Being king of your own domain means you can have any email address you want, so I register with unique addresses for each site I sign up for. NYC@[domain].com at newyorktimes.com, slash@[domain].com here, charlotte@[domain].com at charlotte.com, etc, etc.
In 3 years of doing this, the only spam I have ever gotten from signing up for ANYTHING, EVER, was from Honda.
and things look different in the Netscape browsers that were released those same years, too. It's called progress (whether forward or backwards). You can't expect the same CSS support from 3 versions of any browser. If there were no difference, the would have been no need for the upgrade.
in addition to the above, keep in mind that if you infringe on a patent after seeing the patent, the patentholder can get triple damages.
That is all the excuse I need.
for $10 a month, I already prefer Rhapsody over Kazaa. It is MUCH faster, has more selection, and higher quality. It is streaming, but on demand. There are also stations that I occassionally listen to, but the on-demand is the deal.
I would like to take this time to remind everyone to grab an ink pen and write "REWARD!!!" and your phone number on the label of your CF cards. I lost a card full of NYC pics less than 48 hours after laughing about the label on the card. "Who would label a memory card?"
those are responses to a poll, not actual findings. So they would say that alcohol affects men by making them stronger and smarter and women by making them funnier and sexier.
What exactly was that list supposed to show? What "fact" was it that you are pretending to share here? Only 1 product in our posts is mentioned and only barely. No AIM. No Bearshare. No Kazaa. No CuteFTP 6 (the current version).
Did you check the date on that list? It is from December 2000. That list may have been fact then, but you can't say "CuteFTP 3.0 contained Spyware in v 3.0 as of December 2000, therefor CuteFTP contains Spyware" any more than you can say "my 7 year old little brother crapped in his diaper 4 years ago, therefor my little brother craps his pants".
When I moved here (Charlotte) 5 years ago, there was a small, local coffee house on my block and a Carribou Coffee 4 blocks away. Starbucks sprung up almost exactly between the 2, on the same side of the street, even. I wanted to hate them but I can't. They didn't seem to hurt the local shop at all and, from the looks of the crowd on the Carribou patio, they didn't hurt CC either. I personally don't visit Carribou anymore because the drink I ordered there is so much better at Starbucks and it is 2 blocks closer. And the decor is better. Some things are more important than pseudo-hipster jihads. Things like good coffee.
Gator is installed with many programs that require the user to read and agree to the EULA before installing them, not just with activeX plug-in downloads. Patching IE will do little-to-no good for many (and possibly most) spyware installations as long as people continue to install Kazaa and other software "free" software that are paid for by Gator and other spy/adware companies.
I guess you're not talking about the same "widgets" as I am. What exactly do you mean? Also, where are you looking for this Usability movement in the Flash world and where are you looking for it in the HTML world? We usually only find what we look for.

Or intelligently.
just in case you wanted verification. The XP Pro retail version has the same Activation mechanism as XP Home.
it's not simply that it fails to work on non-IE browsers. The site is written to avoid trying to work on non-Ie browsers.

did /. really just post a speech from 1970?!?!
Geeks play music. Geeks listen to music. We all know that tubes sound better than solid state. Why is this posted here?
seriously
According to asdf.com, "asdf@asdf.com" is a popular fake email address so they can't use it for themselves (as I am sure they wanted to).

Bravo.
"google is not going to release a tool that searches your local drive "
Google IS going to release a tool that searches your local drive.
I used the scheme mentioned above, amazon@[domain].com and they allowed it.

1 bag of frozen veggies (little cubed carrots, corn, etc)
1 carton of chicken broth
throw in a pot and boil

or maybe the audio and video codecs included in the player are not GPL compatible.

Kazaa, yes. Bearshare? I don't know. CuteFTP? No. AIM? No. Please try to stick to facts.
