Battery life is infinite on the Madison VaporTop! Just send us 150$ USD in unmarked bills, actually, mark the bills with your SSN, and send them to our PO Box in China.
Yeah, I'm starting to get that vaporware feeling after doing a little more reading. Pfft, probably too good to be true.
I read the faq on their website, but it doesn't mention battery life. I imagine that it would be pretty good considering the (relatively) low end components, but I've been wrong before.
I'm seriously interested in buying one of these guys. Not that I can't pick up an old laptop and install Linux on it, but I don't think I can pick up a laptop with all new components for $150.
Also it's guaranteed that all the components work/play well with Linux. That's a good feeling.
And the biggest surge in overclcocking I recall were all the people running their 350Mhz celerons at 500Mhz... because the celerons were cheap.
It was 366Mhz Celerons overclocked to 550Mhz. It wasn't only because they were cheap. Many (if not most) 366Mhz Celerons were able to OC to 550Mhz with just the stock cooler (bump the 66Mhz FSB to 100Mhz).
Add in the famous Abit BP6 (dual Celerons) and you were in business.
Actually, I would hazard a guess that agricultural wastes would be a larger problem: Out here in the country, it's simply a matter of run off. A luxury you do not have in the city.
From TFA:
"All of the water in the entire complex would be recycled."
I'd assume that would take care of any run-off problems.
Looking at the Eve pictures proves one thing, though.
That bitch was skanky! With slightly scary eyes.
Seriously, though, why are the people represented as being Caucasian? What if Eve actually looked like Lucy Liu and Adam looked like Issac Hayes? Wait, I'll keep my mouth shut so I don't upset the Creationists.
...once the price comes down. Also, I think that more carriers will need to offer the iPhone. Just Cingular isn't enough.
I could see buying one if they were in the $300 range and I could pick which wireless company I want to use. Just look at the RAZR. Weren't those originally offered by just one carrier (in the States) and pretty pricey to boot? Now every wireless company offers them and nearly everyone I know has one (except me, I like candy-bar style phones).
Also now that it's been announced that 3rd party programs can be developed for the iPhone, I see that as a big plus in expanding its capabilities.
In summary, as long as the price comes down and it's offered my multiple carriers and good apps are developed for it, I do think that it will be a big success.
I'm just not into those damn MMORPGs so it has been a bad few years for me. However, with the announcement of Starcraft 2 and now Fallout 3 being imminent, I'm quite excited.
Am I the only person in the world who likes single player games anymore? Seriously all I hear about are MMO games.
To each his/her own. I hardly ever see gmail accounts, occasionally a yahoo account, never an aol account, but most often I see/get email from hotmail accounts.
Because you live in 1998?
I have to agree with OP. It has been probably over a year since I've seen email from a hotmail or AOL account.
Vonage is not alone. If this case holds, it will effectively destroy VoIP.
No it won't. Verizon itself offers VoIP. In fact I'd say that they'd rather have everyone on VoIP since it's probably cheaper to maintain than standard POTS.
Verizon just wants to be the company to sell the VoIP to you and they'll try to take down anyone that steals customers from them.
VoIP is still the future, it's just unclear who will be selling it.
I typed in (or rather, copied and pasted) "enterprise network security (Ethane)" into google. You'll notice those are the last 4 words in the article summary. My first hit was this website.
I worked at a place (~200 employees) that had a really crappy policy.
There were about 20 people in management type positions that had absolutely no blocks set on the websites that they could visit.
The rest of the employees had a whitelist of work related websites that they could access. Everything else was strictly verboten. No checking personal email, no checking the weather or news.
To me it seemed somewhat Draconian, but that was the policy in place.
I think it's your erroneous bleating about the "ultra-religious" running the Republican party. That's clearly not true as other repliers have noted.
George Bush.
The Republican party does a remarkably poor job of addressing the concerns of the ultra-religious.
George Bush's agenda seems to do that quite well.
But it makes sense when you realize that Republicans don't need to care about the ultra-religious in the US.
George Bush doesn't care about himself or his agenda? Funny.
They just need to appear to be a better choice for the ultra-religious than a Democrat. Easy to do.
George Bush can barely manage to do that.
And failing to satisfy the ultra-religious actually works in the Republicans' favor since they then can stoke long term issues that will always draw out the vote of the ultra-religious.
Like George Bush's agenda?
So, you're a Republican? So, you're a Bush apologist? Never would have guessed it.
It seems pretty obvious that the agenda set by industry and religious leaders and delivered to Bush is running this country into the ground. The ultra-religous and ultra-conservatives are a cancer on the earth.
I've had copies of XP that MS wouldn't activate over the web. What did I do? Call the number they give you. The customer rep will ask why you need to re-activate XP. I just say that I did a reinstall. That's it. I've never had problems the 10 or so times that I've done it.
Have you actually called MS? It's pretty friggin' easy.
I would bet that Folding@home could be made to use all of the PS3's power.
Yeah it could max out the CPU power, but not the GPU and memory. That's what Sony means when they say "Nobody will ever use all the power of a PS3". It would be nearly impossible to max out the CPU, GPU and memory simultaneously. At least in any meaningful way.

Oh, those were the good old days.
I'd assume that would take care of any run-off problems.
I wonder if that's because it got a good look at Uranus?
I didn't see a picture of the belly button.

Why can't people just go about their lives and be happy? Spending $27 million just seems silly to "prove" a belief.
In my opinion it just smacks of insecurity in beliefs. You just believe what you want and I'll just believe what I want.
That's it. That's all. Damn people are stupid.

Oh man, I've been waiting for this for years

There are pluses and minuses to every OS.
Each user has to decide what is right for his or herself.
Uh-Duuuuuuuuhhh!

Sam
Noooooooooooooooo!
Here it is.
Enjoy.
What's so damned hard about that?
'Bout time that good for nothing sea pulled its weight.
I mean, what's it ever done for us? Nothing!
Generating a little electricity will only start repaying what its mother and I have given it over the years.
Now if we could just get it to move out of our basement or start paying rent...
Geez!

God I'm glad I left that job.
I can see it now...
Young Girl: Mom, do you ever have that not-so-fresh feeling?
Mom: Only when I use Windows Vista.
Fade to black...
Brought to you by Ubuntu douche.

Alright, that means only 8 more years until I can get some of her nude photos!
Firm on the fact that $600 is too-damned-much to pay for a gaming system!
Seriously, for that much money the games better knock my socks off and the console better massage my prostate.
Why doesn't MS just stick to what it does well: making a decent Office Suite and a less-than-decent Operating System?
I mean, aren't all the other money losing projects (hello Zune and Xbox) just financed by Office and OS anyway?
Seems like a waste of time and resources to me.
I hate your boss!
