    It's like blaming the gun maker for a sniper attack. If UNIX were in the same dominating position today, it would be exploited similarly. And please don't glorify UNIX. Microsoft did in 5 years what UNIX took 25 years. Accelerated development has its price. Come on you guys ! If not Microsoft, we would still be teletyping, telnetting and what other gory stuff to access the 'Net. UNIX Sucks! Big Time

    The Emperor is not wearing any clothes! I always suspected Linux to be not as enterprise-friendly as Windows. Now this is true. As i keep saying Linux is just good for servers administered by nerds who eat, drink, compile. Real world users use Windows, because- IT IS SO EASY !!! Get that you Linux crowd ! Make Linux Desktop as great as Windows and your market will boom. I again promise: Linux will NEVER, NEVER make it to the enterprise desktop.

    Pity Brazil still remains a land of Soccer, Samba, & Coffee. Slashdot is *infested* with Indians because we are IT Capital of the world. With an economy chugging at 4.3% growth and a +tive BoP siutation with HUGE foreign reserves (last known $88 billion) pretty soon we will race ahead of so-called super-economies of Latin A. We have a 5,000 year old wisdom to guide us. We were building monuments and drainage systems and trading over seas long before others came down from trees.

    No one is discouraged and prevented from Voting. In fact WE Indians jealously guard our right to vote even though we may have differences in castes. The booth is the only place where you can see a high-caste hindu standing beside a low-caste outcaste. At the time of election we are proud we can vote.

    My Dell Axim X5 has MUCH, MUCH more. An MP3 player, 320x320 crisp TFT screen, 64 MB memory, 32MB SD Card, audio recorder, etc., Of course you need to buy a video camera and attach... but its just that. For the price Dell gives me $250/- its dirt cheap/

    $187.26 may be the average. However no one disputes the fact that India has the LARGEST middle-class working group in the world, larger than the entire population of USA. That is why our mobile-phone market IS the largest in the world. No wonder AT&T, BT, Verizon are making a beeline to India. Do you know India has a 3G mobile phone service with 1 million connections capable of onstream video and phone-banking? Hmmm, the word india still conjures up images of poverty, snake charmers, beggars just like US depicts Al Capone to us.

    I disagree. A MSFT monopoly is far far better. All these Linux Geeks out there support Linux not for its excellence, but for the thrill of standing against MSFT ! Try to understand that Microsoft has achieved in just 5 years what UNIX could not achieve in 20. Uniformity and standardization. After all you UNIX geeks out there could not even agree on a standard GUI after all those years and continue to ship Gnome and KDE ! Now the success of MSFT burns in to your hearts. How many of you will continue to love UNIX/LINUX after staring down at Microsoft Weaponry (Stocks) for the first time. Come on guys ! Deep down everyone is a Ferengi.
