and not shy about admitting it. I just don't get it. I go to some sites, they are horrible. I see overlapping text, or dual text like superimposed, yeech, you can't read it. In the olden days, the biggest problem I remember is the way tables laid out depending on your browser, but it wasn't that bad..now, sheesh. Now I don't know, is this "style sheets" being misused or what? Or something else? I'm running moz 1.6 on FCI. Hmm, one that bugs me for an example is a site I'd like to read, too, prisonplanet.com. It's just awful to look at for me, but I know it's just got to be the way my browser is displaying it, ie, it's my problem. How do you "fix" a page that appears that way to you? That's what I'd like to know about CSS. Are there settings in the preferences control panel I am not using correctly, or what?
... the other day in another similar reply post. He's just a dude got extra server space and bandwith, and there's no way to tell a lot of times if some linked-to place will go down or not, and if you wait until it goes down, you can't get the content to mirror it. Catch 22 there.
I don't see it as a big problem really, I've missed a lot of sites that got slashdotted before they even got presented to the leeching hordes here, of which I am one (non subscribers on time dealy viewing). I appreciate his mirror and anyone else who mirrors really, more power to them, and more power to the sites that stay up and don't crash and burn from a slashdotting as well, just ya never know...
...confiscate all the stock? The government doesn't seem to have any problem confiscating poor and middle class peoples tangible possessions when they "break" some law. In fact, in many places now, cops just steal your cash if you are carrying it and it's the "officers" opinion you shouldn't have "that much" on you, and even if you can PROVE you got it legally, in a lot of cases they still don't give it back to you. The law theory is personal property is a legal fiction and has no rights. Once it is confiscated by the police, it is "guilty" by default, opposite if you get arrested. Theory anyway.
That just do NOT happen to billionaires. Not too often anyway..
As to Gates, no one can tell me his accountants didn't know what they were doing was illegal. I mean, I never owned one share of anything in my life and I know you're supposed to report major deals like that. The only obvious conclusion then is they thought the potential fine was worth the risk and profits, and/or Gates himself ordered it to go down that way.
I personally *despise* the man, he represents a lot of what is wrong with corporate america, and it usually starts at thetop. He's a pirate, always been a pirate, a thief and bully. He just robs other corporations and entire groups of people, that's the only difference between him and some street mugger, IMO.
... scientists, techs, engineers, geeks all over need a UNION. You not only could save your jobs and continue to get paid well, if it was an international union think about it, you could CUT THE WORLDS MILITARIES OFF AT THE KNEES AND PREVENT WARS.
And here's something for all the young geeks inside the US now.PAY ATTENTION. YOU, yes YOU, are in imminent peril of being DRAFTED. This is NOT a joke. There are two bills now in the armed services committe for review, chances are they'll sit on it until after the elections, the controlled by the goons mass media is not going to cover it in the "news", then LOOK OUT, they'll pull one of those voice votes with no accountability and pass that thing in the middle of the night like they always do. They are counting on you staying dumbed down and disorganized. And it's ALL young people, male and female, either a forced stint in the mercenary forces or in some aspect of the brownshirt "homeland security". My generation, the boomers, did what we could, millions of us sacraficed a LOT, I mean a LOT, to get it dropped, killed, and we suceeded. I mean, serious widespread street demonstrations and everything else we could think of, which towards the end the returning young nam vets who had just gotten back started joining us by the thousands, because they finally bingoed that they were used, abused, lied to, and had just gotten back from armed conflict, and THE GOONS KNEW THAT. But it took just hundreds of thousands of people willing to go all the way to end it. We got rid of nixon, the draft, slowed down but didn't stop the rise of the military industrial complex shadow government, which is BACK in spades now.
Unfortunately, over the years, greed took over, sad to say a lot of people in my generation sold out, lost their ideals, became addicted to money and power and crass "entertainments". I apologize, I'm one guy, can't do it all.
It's time to do it again you young people, all you nerds and geeks out there, because YOU got the power to make the potential y2k problems look like a mild annoyance, merely by going on strike and not running the nations infrastructure until your demands are met.And not only the real younger people, those past the age of drafting but still young enough to remember and be sympathetic, and there's something in it for you too, called making the nation BETTER.
YOU are really doing the work now, running things, the suits just give you orders and you eat it and eat it and eat it and eat it because you are not organized and they can trample over you, and the goons are just getting started with it again, it's deja vu. WAKE UP.
Create a full bore across the board IT union and you have THE POWER. REFUSE to endorse any candidates from the two major political crime cartels, that's a waste of time and you know it. The suits, fatcats, politicians, CEOs are helpless WITHOUT drone workers-so stop being drones! They need mindless robots to follow their orders, inside and outside of what passes for "government" and in the major industries. You keep getting screwed because of no national organized power structure, and THAT'S IT. They have you faked out that just because you mostly work indoors somehow you don't need a union, when your bosses/politicians got unions up the wazoo, industry groups and lobbyist bribe money by the billions. think about it.
Nothing else is needed except organization, a union to make it stick and to make carved in stone forever laws passed, and the willingness to not sell out. No violence needed, nothing illegal, just a desire and willingness to make it stick, to shut that sucker down unless a few critical things change, and stay changed, for the better.
... more than teeth. Well, it's both, but usually first as you age the gums recede too far, the tooth gets loose, nothing to hold it in, it gets wiggly, then comes out. It's like trying to keep a plant grtowing in 1 millimeter of soil, just not enough for the roots to hold.
--no, we won't become agrarian. Average age of professional farmers who own their own farms is now in the 60's inside the united states. We have a lot of corporate farming with basically employees, but even that is now being off-shored as fast as possible to other nations with extremely lax pollution controls and labor standards. Rural work is being destroyed on purpose in the US, from food-agriculture to forestry to mining.
I work for a guy who's a major farmer (among some other businesses), even his farming business requires him to basically be an employee of a single large conglomerate. He simply wouldn't be able to produce and market without it, it's almost impossible except at the opposite end of the scale, the small labor intensive organic farmers out there, who fill a decent niche market. The corporation tells him *exactly* what and how and where and when to do his farming, I mean down to the smallest detail. You'd be shocked how complete the control is, and zero deviation is permitted, and even then the profits are evaporating.
But, even those small "organic" guys products wil be poofed within a decade as all the new GM modified crops (including terminator gened crops, by far the worst of the bunch) are introduced around the planet. this is being done on purpose as well, to develop a global food monopoly. Think about those ramifications. Air cross-pollination will kill off (and I mean kill, as in destroy, wipe out, make extinct) all the major commercial food crops except those produced by a couple of international corporations. Combine that with the deliberate global trend to privatise and control all the fresh water sources, you can see where that is going.
If you look at our business and political trends, it's military-expansionist outward looking, and the further creation of the uber controlled police state "justice system" internally. That's our two major growth industries now.
This "dumbing down" was done on purpose, and she has the paper trail to prove it. hard to go forward as effectively in research when the defaultposition is to brainwash the kids into being corporate moo slave consumers and statists instead of just a quality education.
Then look at the trends in finance where we developed the technique of corporate raiding, junk bonds, hedge funds and derivatives, and lying at top levels of the economy as a proper business model, and you can see that the get rich quick, something for nothing attitude has become more important than actually researching and producing products and services as the top priority for the nations "business community". There's no way around it, long term research won't equate a "postive cash flow" in this quarters statements, so they abandoned it. When eventually it lead to a severe decline in profits (as it was bound to), they switched to outsourcing what they could, in sourcing cheaper labor for that which couldn't be outsourced, and bribing politicians more to keep laws passed that would maintain short term profits over longer term profitability and stability.
Now look at something else, back to the children, we've also seen the most curious phenomenon of the forced drugging of children in the schools, to go along with the deliberate brainwashing and dumbing down. Been going on a long time now, now it's quite normal, but it was simply unheard of just a few decades ago, it's totally new, and completely wrong. I think it's funny as all get out, I can drive into town and go by an elementary school, outside they have a DARE sign, when inside 1/4to 1/3 of the students are drug addicts on purpose. The irony is delicious but disturbing, because few of the parents and even fewer of the JBT "drug warriors" can see it.
And my pet peeve, the thoroughly ridiculous emphasis on schools being the farm teams for the major professional sports leagues, and addicting generation after generation of people into their complete scam profits machine. And it's not just the schools, look at any local news broadcast in the evening, 1/3 of the total non commercial time is devoted to this "bread and circuses" to keep up the addiction. How much of that news time do you ever see any reference to the hard sciences, or anything actually intellectual compared to the scores for the "big games"?
We lost it culturally on purpose, it's not good enough to be our own smart workers anymore, we need managers, marketers, entertainers, middle man skimmers and gamblers, and most importantly, mercenaries-but not deep thinkers or actual productive workers. Our foreign policy now, both civilian and military, is based on L
...I tend to think of moderation points as being roughly equivalent to the sidebar poll results, i.e.; if you are doing anything serious with them, you're insane!
hahahaha! I get a nice spread of points here at slashdot, up and down, if I DIDN'T I would think I was doing something wrong!
And yep, re-reading my list of older vehicles I see I left some out. sigh. Kinda like old girlfriends, you remember the good times and hot times, and sorta forget the bad times why you broke up....
hmm, make a nice article for people, a full post, like "what was your one favorite old computer and why?"

We've all seen how the latest and greatest of the time (late 1800s onward)-phone service-enriched everyone's lives immeasurably when it was made mandatory to go every place (well, just about every place now). IF they didn't have that yet, I'd say probably not, still too expensive, but with it 90% there (+ ~ - ), seems like a natural to me. Sweden is a high tech nation, no reason for them to not continue on the same path.
Eventually it will be treated and used as just another utility anyway, it's inevitable, there and in the US and all over the industrialised world, so-o-o, might as well just "do it"and get on with it, use it, see how it will work to make lives better, how it will improve trade and commerce, improve work, etc.

this "don't steal" deal has a counter to it, it DOESN'T work just one way, and here's the serious flaw in predatory "profits at any cost" style capitalism like we have now being promoted as "God's way" when it *clearly isn't*.
Leviticus chapter 19, verses 35 and 36
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in mete-yard, in weight, or in measure.
Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just bin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
In other words, don't steal from your potential customers EITHER by lying and charging obscene profits over your costs.
Neither side in the great download and movie debate has a moral leg to stand on there, and the "industry" did it first, in spades, been convicted of it even by our skewed secular laws that already favored them, nothing happened to them of note, and they continued to use "unjust weights and measures" (and bearing false witness) in bribing off the political process to legitimize their unjust thefts. But, stealing what's already stolen is not righteous either, IMO.
And when it comes to other sorts of intellectual property, people who insist on it being "theirs"(closed source propietary software for instance) are shooting themselves in the foot, when we ALL share, thee and thou and me and you, we ALL get to benefit from what the other guy produces. We actually all get richer from it. That's the big picture that the mega profiteers don't seem to grasp yet, they think by keeping information secret and restricted that somehow they'll get "more" when all that happens is the other guy does that to THEM and the only people getting a lot of something for doing practically nothing are the middlemen in that deal, people who produce *nothing* worth sharing. So, to avoid work, to avoid toiling to produce, they just pass laws that insist they get paid somehow off the backs of others, if you follow the economic food chains around.
...everything is supposed to be HDTV? what happens to the millions of sets out there that will no longer work then? Or will they still(anyone), I really just don't know. I've got three colors and two black and whites, those latter are a 12 volt small model for "power outtage" times and a nifty sony watchman that runs great on a few AAs. Obsolete then, or what? I honestly don't know, but I will be annoyed if I have to junk them and get new ones to watch the same just-a-few things I watch now, if so, I probably won't, just stop watching anything except tapes on the vcr then.
those touch screen things? I have, they suck, and the vote gets hijacked. I tried writing in a few candidates, they didn't show in the "official" tally. Gee wonder why? And we have the carved in stone broadcast networks who've hijacked the public airwaves, HDTV or not, they do NOT cover third parties or independents on what passes for their "news" worth a squat, which means it's always gonna be one of the one party with two names demons gets "voted" in.
That's not a "vote",really, it's gotten to be like the vote say in china with one party or something, we have for all practical purposes now a co-operative "junta" with the *appearance* of a vote to keep the sheeps happy. And the courts? Name ONE federal judge who isn't a hand picked crony partisan of the two headed one party system, because I can't. There might be one but I can't think of one or heard of any. Ain't none of them gonna "rule" that anything going on is "wrong" now, they aren't about to bite the hand that feeds them (or is blackmailing them) even if some lawsuits got pushed ahead.
It's a junta, a military/industrial run shadow government is the real power and where the action is, the civilian "vote" and "representative government" has vanished, replaced by a facade of high political theater and a lot of acting and script reading,ie; we live in a dictatorship now, just a lot of folks are still in denial over it.
YES, love them. Ain't a new one out there I would keep if anyone gave it to me, with the exception of that one I saw on TV the other day, that sportscar/boat amphibious thing(If I could remember the name I'd post a link to it), THAT was nice from what I could see. But besides that, older vehicles got class and a "personality" to them.
Lemme see, from memory here my old wreckers that ran, and I know I'll leave something out: 51 studebaker champion pickup 62 studebaker sedan delivery 55 ford "meat wagon" sedan delivery (anyone remember dobie gillis show? what his old man had, the delivery truck) 59 Willys Jeep wagon 62 falcon 2 door wagon 63 falcon 49 chevy 7 window pickup-never built it some year nash metropolitan, don't remember, never rebuilt it 69 vw bus, *nice*, worked on that one a lot, solid as a moose on steroids 69 willys jeep wagoneer (well, when you lifted the hood the ID specs tag still said willys...) 69 mustang grande dang, almost forgot, a 62 valiant with a slant six, the stereotypical 100$ car that just wouldn't quit, just amazing little vehicle, got 25 MPG and start at 15 below zero F.
had a buncha 70s cars and a few 80's, never liked any of them really except a few volkswagens and the van I still have which I will keep forever
Last week my girlfriend got a 79 lincoln mark v, sat in a garage for 15 years until recently, CHERRY except for needing some paint. Can't hardly hear the engine running, smooth as silk, comfortable as all get out, big as an apartment inside the thing, and mileage is better (still low but better) than with our jeep (80 cj7) or my old van (75 chevy 20 series).
Wish I still had my old aircooled veedubbs though, they have held value pretty good over the years and the add ons and improvements they have for them now are *nice*.
Anyway, ya, older computers. the industry is based on planned obsolescence to keep going, realistically, we reached a real good point for 95% of computer users a few years ago now, there really isn't a major reason to upgrade. There needs to be a law like getting a new battery or something, IF you want to upgrade from a store/vendor, they take in one old one and recycle it properly, and if you don't turn one in you get charged serious more "deposit". make them deal with older stuff, they the ones profitting from the landfills filling up with their crap and "forced" upgrades, them and the OS and app vendors who won't code for smallish ram anymore. I keep my old boxes running as well as I can for just that reason, and I make sure they go to some deserving kid who will use them and not be freaked out they ain't the latest whizzbang 18 megayada marvels.
I think poor active X is a plus, but I have forgotten, does NT4 support USB? I have been contemplating switching the 98 box here to that, I have a disk for NT4, put it on once but don't recall if it does USB well or not. Reason being a crappy little usb digital camera I have, a vivitar, it really borks my FC1 box, like major kernel panic, all the lights start flashing on the keyboard, nothing works, keyboard or mouse, you are forced to do a hard power off reboot, which sucks. So I download the pics to the 98 box now, then sneakernet them over, but I've read many times that NT4 is somehow better.
sidenote: spent the last three days (well, off and on ofcourse) playing with an old toshiba laptop running 95, no cd player for it, so it would be hard to change OSes. Got given to me as a total scrap piece, wouldn't even boot when I first got it. Cleaned the battery terminals, that worked, then when it booted the hard drive sounded like acorns in a rusty blender (something to do with industrial strength "health" magnet being put close to the machine before). Started with scandisk, ran it for more than a week until it stabilised enough to get to it and really work on it. Deleted a lot of kruft from previous owner, then spybotted it (hundreds), then antivirred it (some), reg supreme (200+ cleaned up, nice program), installed tiny personal firewall (no longer any zone alarm for 95, rats!)and XPrampro set on automatic, and been surfing with it. 16 megs ram, pentium 100, full color GUI, all works nice. 95 is lightweight and functional at least.. Latest opera 7.5 beta runs (kinda) real slow, you go nuts qucik with it, firefox.8 even slower, almost unusable at all,not even close to opera which is bad enough on the antique,BUT it loads and draws the best looking pages at like 3 minutes or more a page, but explorer 5 runs pretty zippy actually, loads quick, draws quick. Not really sure which other browsers to try, I know to not do netscape 4 series on it...
I think there's life in old boxes if you keep them clean and use a modicum of net savvy with them. Looking forward to the time there's an easy to use distro that'll run some linux on this and similar machines, full easy to use GUI out of the box.
don't put up with it, wasting tax payers dollars and contributing to the spread of worms on everyone's net. Most states have various ethics laws that might apply to the state worker even if he is just an employee, and not an elected official. There's honest mistakes, then there's a derelection of service or duty, this sounds like the latter from your description. You may be allowed to file a formal complaint against that bozo, or notify up the food chain there until you get to the nearest elected official in charge of the bozo. If it's like my state it can't be ignored, either.
...... I would be interested in seeing a description/specs of this system. I am always interested in alternative energy and "samller and more functional". Stuff like the PVpanel, charge controller, batteries, enclosures, the computer itself like how the sensors are inputed and whatnot, etc. thanks in advance!
as a general rule, yes some exceptions, but as a rule, mac folks don't switch. They may ADD to their fllet of boxes, but they alwas have a mac running there. Apple has a name for "just works" at a slight premium over "you take your chances" machines, and always has. They also have some smart guys who know how most people think, that's why they went the heaviest into GUI over all other vendors, hardware or software. Now I'm not saying they SHOULD merge, but IF they did they COULD come up with a super integrated system that went from the lowliest laptop to big iron, that "just worked", and would fall in price below conventional big iron, but still be quite the deal in functionality. A top to bottom solution for single people with one computer to big enerprise ega systems. All Apple lacks now is big iron expertise, and they are taking steps that way, one step at a time. You see, I wouldn't consider sun buying apple, I would think the reverse would be more productive.
c Coincidently, typing this on my old powerbook 1400, when a few days ago my linux box, with zip changes on my part, decided to no longer go online or remain freeze-free. Tried 4 modems, nope. Even then it will only stay up around an hour before it freezes up. I like linux, but...... it needs work still it appears..... There's obviously some major problem, but dang if I know where it is or how to fix it, like where do you look? I can do "some" stuff, but guru I am not, and yoda ain't handy to voodoo fix it.
My old mac though, drug it out of a bag, it's been stored for a year, fired it up, added in the new isp details, didn't even have the exact modem in a list, just used a generic modem script, poof, back online, 0 problems. Never got ownede with it either, because it ain't possible far as I know unless it's physically handled by mr. badguy. Remotely, in a non server config and no apple sharing turned on, I don't think so. maybe it is but I never heard of it, my apologies if there's a way to do it.
Stuff like that makes mac loyalists. It works great for the most part, secure, and don't break too much, that's the philosophy mac brings to the computer table, they make it easy to use and not break, and I ask ya, what's wrong with that? They drag that dictum to Sun, tell em to "get it" until they do, get rid of the cruft, see where they can integrate, and it just might work as a full vertically integrated computer company, something for everyone. sun only offered something for every person with really deep pockets, and it got expensive from there.
But, total wag on my part, no idea but I've thought about it for several years now as a possibility that might fly.
... to their lawyer being interviewed about it. The lady's mother got slammed against the door by one of the hogs when she tried to bring a tupperware bowl of water out so her blind and deaf daughter could wash her face off from the mace she took. Did you see they been killing people there at traffic stops as well?
I remember one from I guess 2 years ago now. There was some bad guy the fbi was chasing. Again, they got a "tip" he was in such and such a car, etc on this road. Well, so happens some kid was driving with his girlfriend in a similar car, like "a red car" something like that. They gang pull him over, all kinza cops, feds and locals, machine guns to them, etc, start yelling GET YOUR HANDS UP! the kid puts his hands up, no idea what's going on. Then another hog(who got hired because of his outstanding "service" as a sniper/assassin, now he's a cop, a HRT trainer) orders him out of the car. Well, the kid reaches down to unfasten his seat belt and he BLEW HIS HEAD OFF because "he was going for a gun" which didn't exist. That happened in virgina or maryland a couple of years ago, as usual, they got off totally scot free.
There's tons of these incidents out there, even some websites dedicated to them that document and archive them because the goons certainly don't do it, they want everyone to think it's just a "few bad apples" when it's really "a few decent honest cops left, most of them old and counting the days to get out and away from the criminality they are forced to deal with at work from fellow 'officers'",.and the majority of the cops out there now are sieg heiling order following gangsters.. I really can't put it in any other words or sugar coat it, these are the new brownshirts. I write on this stuff because of LONG involvement with civil rights going back to "legal" discrimination against black people days, and illegalities by government in general and exposing corruption, been a major interest of mine since I was a teenager.. Seen it all. From murders on down, corruption and criminality and brutality is the soul of government now. Took my share of abuse by them bozos too, seen even worse. Someday I need to write all the stories out, I have dribs and drabs of them scattered across the net the past buncha years. I got another one for ya, I used to date a lady cop, a sheriffs deputy, worked for the de kalb county georgia(big metro atlanta county along withton county) sheriffs dept. After awhile she started telling me about the huge amount of crime being committed by her fellow cops. she was just appalled, had only been in two years and was already seeing so much of it she was scared, because they have this deal, rat on another cop no matter how crooked or evil they are, and you could get killed. that plain and simple. At a minimum your career is over, and you get harassed unmercilessly, even beat up, your family threatened, vehicle sabotageed, you name it. Anyway, she said it went from top to bottom over there, from hitmen for hire to organized burglary, you name it. Never thought a whole bunch about it till a few years later. If you want to see how bad it really was, google for sheriff, de kalb county, murder, you'll find some links to the stories about the head sheriff getting busted for a political assassination.
...I don't lie, in cyber world or meatworld. Second, this was on the news just DAYS ago, what do you do with your time to have missed it? Video games, porn, what? That doesn't matter, except to show how the police state apologists like you are quick to DENY the truth that's staring everyone in the face all the time. ostriches, not humans. That means YOU.
Here's your link, all the proof you need to see I am telling the truth, and can check my DATA
There's THOUSANDS of incidents like this happening all over the USA, there are SO many it's ridiculous, and easy to find them. So GO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH., just MAYBE you might shake up your own pre conceived religious cult like faith in what you *think* is reality. In other words, it's NOT paranoid if it's REAL. THEY KEEP DOING IT AND THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT AND IT'S GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND.
.....but only the major cases of abuse by swine make it to the papers. Did you happen to catch the latest one out of Portland, oregon? About 500 lbs of low IQ bacon on the hoof order followers "took down" a dangerous 72 year old BLIND granny terrorist because she dared to say "no" to them and wanted to keep an old family heirloom that was being removed from her property as an eyesore. She had junk in her yard and had a hard time cleaing it up all the time is the story. Beat, maced, then tasereed 4 times while she was on the ground. She got took down initially by being punched in the back of her head so far it knocked her prosethetic false eye loose by some brave "peoples servant". THEN when her 90 year old mother went to get her some water to wash out her eyes, they slammed her into the wall. The TAXPAYERS paid a 100 grand plus out of court settlement, but NOTHING happened to those fascist goons. NOTHING.
This crap goes on all the time since they militarized the hog forces with the introduction of the war on some drugs, you could see it change radically since then. We don't have cops now, we have rejects from some third world death squad. Over stuffed steroid crazed goons dressed in black with armor and automatic weapons. I mean, people have got to be able to see this now you would think..
Last summer, we got raided here at 12:30 am , our first night in our new place, because horror of horrors, there was a LIGHT ON in the window and someone called in a "tip". Didn't matter we were there moving in and working on the place everyday the week previous, nope, not a bit. Guns to the head, screamed at, whole nine yards. Didn't matter they didn't check with the owner, lives one house up the street. nope, all they needed was a "tip". Not fun to be awakened at o dark thirty have a glock put to your head while you are still shaking the cobwebs out. I made it as far as the door to see what was going on, sheesh, they goober would have plugged me you could see it, he was shaking and his eyes were all glazed over like he was on crack or something.
The people making the point of slippery slope are close but have missed it, it's *too late for that argument*, we have already slipped down, now all that's left is how much mud and crap we have to eat from here on out. I can't believe it's even being debated anymore like "well, if it ever gets bad..." Phooie, it got bad, now people are scared whitless because there's NOTHNG you can do about it except..well.. take it back, meet it head on when it happens. Take the country back from the ones who stole it.
The vote has been stolen, government has been hijacked, the courts are a collection of illegal kangaroo court overseers.. Let's face reality now, your incident, the old ladies incident, mine, they are tip of the iceberg, you can find examples all over the country, they happen daily. The courts routinely ignore born with rights, in favor of just protecting the elite and the status quo that keeps them that way. Sucks. And ALL this camera, biometrics ID, chips that arecoming are ALL for the purpose of finalising the takeover, all the other arguments are facades, window dressings. It really IS big brother moves by the elite, enforced by their mercenaries..
We HUNG goons at nuremberg for blindly "following orders" and being serial jerks and bullies,"just following orders from their 'superiors"" crap.
Eventually that'll happen here in the US, just like it happened in nuremberg, and as it happened in king georges time, You had the kings agents, his goons and mercenaries then, and the quisling tories, equally disgusting. Just in the meantime and until then it's gonna get much, much worse.
I'm just as skeptical, even moreso than most, I just find statements of absolutism from supposed learned people quite laughable, because historically they keep getting proven wrong in enough cases to "prove" that even the smartest guy sometimes is completely erroneous in what they consider to be some "law" of this or that. REAL smart guys know that they DON'T have all the answers, and most likely never will. The steps below the REAL smart guys levels are the ones you have to watch out for, arrogance seems to be a part of their DNA structure.
that doesn't sound too bad then. I was just wondering as I have an older slow box and a slow dialup connection. I'll wait till it's up and running for awhile and the smart guys analyse it further, see if it's up and up, etc, then I'll reconsider it, because it sounds like an interesting and possibly beneficial project.
... this past weekend that they are going to start allowing horse racing jockeys to have ads on their racing silks, like racing cars I guess.
Hmm, maybe paint ads on the HORSES too?? hehehee, that would be a hoot!
hey, how about ads on the hot babes at nudie bars? NO ONE would ignore them!
and not shy about admitting it.
Still interesting technology.
This book was written by Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), U.S. Department of Education, during the first Reagan Administration, where she first blew the whistle on a major technology initiative which would control curriculum in America's classrooms.
And yep, re-reading my list of older vehicles I see I left some out. sigh. Kinda like old girlfriends, you remember the good times and hot times, and sorta forget the bad times why you broke up....
hmm, make a nice article for people, a full post, like "what was your one favorite old computer and why?"
...because in the original pieces for the article and in some comments it mentions that fiber optic already goes every place but the last mile.
--that's what stout walls and doors and dogs, booby traps and intrusion systems are for.....
this "don't steal" deal has a counter to it, it DOESN'T work just one way, and here's the serious flaw in predatory "profits at any cost" style capitalism like we have now being promoted as "God's way" when it *clearly isn't*.
IMO anyway.
aaak, thanks for the clarification!
I admit to buzzword and acronym overload sometimes......
Lemme see, from memory here my old wreckers that ran, and I know I'll leave something out:
51 studebaker champion pickup
62 studebaker sedan delivery
55 ford "meat wagon" sedan delivery (anyone remember dobie gillis show? what his old man had, the delivery truck)
59 Willys Jeep wagon
62 falcon 2 door wagon
63 falcon
49 chevy 7 window pickup-never built it
some year nash metropolitan, don't remember, never rebuilt it
69 vw bus, *nice*, worked on that one a lot, solid as a moose on steroids
69 willys jeep wagoneer (well, when you lifted the hood the ID specs tag still said willys...)
69 mustang grande
dang, almost forgot, a 62 valiant with a slant six, the stereotypical 100$ car that just wouldn't quit, just amazing little vehicle, got 25 MPG and start at 15 below zero F.
had a buncha 70s cars and a few 80's, never liked any of them really except a few volkswagens and the van I still have which I will keep forever
So I download the pics to the 98 box now, then sneakernet them over, but I've read many times that NT4 is somehow better.
.8 even slower, almost unusable at all,not even close to opera which is bad enough on the antique,BUT it loads and draws the best looking pages at like 3 minutes or more a page, but explorer 5 runs pretty zippy actually, loads quick, draws quick. Not really sure which other browsers to try, I know to not do netscape 4 series on it...
sidenote: spent the last three days (well, off and on ofcourse) playing with an old toshiba laptop running 95, no cd player for it, so it would be hard to change OSes. Latest opera 7.5 beta runs (kinda) real slow, you go nuts qucik with it, firefox

Coincidently, typing this on my old powerbook 1400, when a few days ago my linux box, with zip changes on my part, decided to no longer go online or remain freeze-free.
Did you see they been killing people there at traffic stops as well?
.and the majority of the cops out there now are sieg heiling order following gangsters..
There's tons of these incidents out there, even some websites dedicated to them that document and archive them because the goons certainly don't do it, they want everyone to think it's just a "few bad apples" when it's really "a few decent honest cops left, most of them old and counting the days to get out and away from the criminality they are forced to deal with at work from fellow 'officers'",
There's THOUSANDS of incidents like this happening all over the USA, there are SO many it's ridiculous, and easy to find them.
Eventually that'll happen here in the US, just like it happened in nuremberg, and as it happened in king georges time, You had the kings
agents, his goons and mercenaries then, and the quisling tories, equally disgusting.
