Professor: "I'm sorry, Fry, but astronomers renamed Uranus in 2620 to end that stupid joke once and for all."
Fry: "Oh. What's it called now?"
Professor: "Urectum. Here, let me locate it for you."
Not in the rest of Europe. It's actually cheaper to buy the retail game then the steam version. And that's because Steam thinks 1$ == 1€, or hope we think
That's exactly why people are so worried, though. Like on Mac OS X, all the major applications will be non-X11 and will not be able to be tunneled over SSH. We're talking all applications that use GTK+ or KDE for a start, followed by other applications as soon as the manpower is available to port them. Currently on Mac OS X you need to use some horrid remote-desktop hack like VNC that essentially forwards the entire desktop over the network very, very slowly and it looks like Ubuntu is going to end up in the same situation.
If you read their mailinglist you will see that they want to have some kind of ssh -X possibility.
>The driver will be longer supported then AMD or Nvidia ever would do;
That remains to be seen. Nvidia unlike ATI still supports their first cards in linux.
Pff, I have had my gas paddle stuck on the free way (In a Toyota), due to the owners stupidity with extra mats under the pedals. Any ways guess what I did? I put the car in neutral and used the brakes. No crash, no nothing.
I could also have turned off the ignition, but I didn't need to. In fact it was enough just to hit the brakes.
Same goes for Windows, Office, Adobe, etc etc etc. But you still have to activate it each time you reinstall. And even worse you tie your copy of CS2 to your battle.net account.
well no, not yet anyways. But if you make a shortfilm with your camera and decide to sell it, then you have to pay up big time.

No, but you have other patents, codecs etc, which where introduced for cameras and other physical objects. For instance the only patent in this pool that is valid in Norway are Mitsubishis very general patent (NO 310850) about coding video with a delta from one picture to the next in "encoding equipments"
Not only that, but most EULA is written in a language even lawyers have problems with. And yes there has been trials where this has been one of the winning arguments.
And how was the DVD prices when this format was new? Exactly how Bluray is now. And I've seen a significant drop in Bluray prices the last 6 months also
Its DRM just like ubisoft. Also the prices in europe is from 100-350% higher then in the US since they use 1$ = 1. It's actually cheaper to buy retail.
Wow, you have it bad. In my country the hearing aid is paid for by the government, ether all of it or partially. It is ordered by your doctor or a special branch of the social-department. And this is how all aids is handled. Ether wheelchair, hearing aid or whatever. Glasses is not covered except is special cases.
Agree, The default XP theme is the most ugly theme I have ever seen. Ubuntus default theme is tenfold more beautiful then that. I don't mind the default ubuntu theme at all, though I prefer my own. The XP theme makes me want to hurl.

Pff. You ever heard some of the Kermit interviews? That's some serious foul language right there. Can't seem to find the clip at the moment though
And all who make games for Consoles. Remember only Xbox uses DirectX, all the other uses OpenGL or a derivate from it.
But unlike the WoW client, SC2 dumps all the torrent files in your install folder. You can therefore use whatever torrent program you find appropriate

Obligatory watch on the first algorithm course at my local university.
My only question is; what makes windows a better OS for people which have never used a computer before?

Hey I had one of those. Pentium 90MHz I believe
Can't they eat cake?

Luckily they have made a patch for all their old games to remove their DRM. Hopefully they will do that to SC2 in time too.
Agree. I have dual up with wallpaper, but I rarely see it anyway. I also like to have plasma in only one screen.

You mean unstable, not ready for mainstream.
I only hope the Half Life franchise will.

Already been done several time in university studies. They always bust them.
