Yeah except that we've rejected it too much, gone too far. So much so that the whole British identity is crumbling and various elements of the UK like Scotland are going for independence.
I always wondered why Youtube never put measures in place to force you to watch the ads, or at least make it a PITA to block them. I mean, timestamp the time someone requests the ad (if they don't request the ad, no video) and then wait approx. 30 seconds (or however long the ad would be) before serving up the video. They could at least wait for you to wait 30 seconds.
Either they just haven't gotten round to doing it yet, or there are some programmers at Google with some sympathy for those who want to block ads and immediately see the video. I wonder which it is...
If it's the "only sane way" to do it, then how do many ISPs around the world (mine included) manage to uncap connections altogether and still offer a decent service?
I think that if your ISP is capping ADSL connections in this day and age, they're probably not trying hard enough with their infrastructure.
Maybe I'm more irritated by this than most, but I liked the VS2010 GUI; colorful icons, a relatively smart professional image. With VS2013 they appear to have tried to "geek it up" or something by making all the tool menus have CAPITAL headings which looks fucking retarded, and making most of the items monochrome (what is that, retro?) Apparently they're trying to 'draw my attention' to the code without distracting me with icons that are nice looking and, ya know, give you a clue what the fuck they do. It just looks like a trainwreck. If there's a VS2010 skin, that's the first thing to install.
Specifically to the wristwatch: this device has more or less ceased to fill its original segment of "functional timekeeping, optionally alarm-playing device that's always with you because it's on your wrist"
Believe it or not, I still wear a digital watch as well as have a smartphone. It's just quicker to glance at the time on it (which I do quite regularly) than take a few seconds taking out my smartphone from a pocket that also has keys in it.
I quite like the simplicity of the watch, though; a smartwatch kind of defeats the point.
You're already wearing a pretty effective condom, it's called not running anything. There's absolutely no reason that the insertion of a storage device should cause your machine to run any of its code. If your OS is doing so it's a lousy OS.
This emulator doesn't seem to be able to load an actual page on the web, just a limited bunch of stuff that's programmed into it, right? I mean if I type www.google.com and press enter, it doesn't load Google.
Nor can the field of vision, past a certain point.
Then why have widescreen monitors?
Surely the point of the widescreen monitors we're getting today is they're attempting to match roughly what the human field of vision is. In tersm of having multiple windows open at once, it's far more convenient to have 2 squarish monitors side-by-side that you can maximize windows on (actually that's my preferred setup) than one widescreen monitor where you have to awkwardly position two side-by-side windows.
Doesn't seem to matter; gas is apparently now the miracle fuel. I can't remember the last time I heard people mentioning the fact that it actually spews crap into the atmosphere.
For the record, I'm not opposed to nuclear energy. I just don't believe an energy policy solely relying on big business is in the consumers nor countries best interest.
Then have the government own and run the nuke plants.
In a country where the government isn't totally dysfunctional, that is. I mean, if that's your problem, then pretty much everything is screwed.
Yep, I hate select to copy and middle-click to paste too. Sometimes I like to middle-click on a window just to make sure it's activated without actually doing anything. On systems where middle-click doesn't paste, this works fine.
This isn't true. I think Obama has a fundamental lack of respect for liberty (he laughs off the idea of ending the drug war), privacy (massively expanding unwarranted surveillance), and the constitution (numerous violations such as unwarranted search and seizure), not to mention international law (pardoning the Bush administration for war crimes, torture, etc.)
He's not hamstrung by the Republicans; he's just a very big disappointment as a president. It's somewhat redundant, if true, to say that he should be impeached, given that that has applied to pretty much all US presidents for the last few decades.

You should use Zen. :-) Plusnet are 0wned by BT and have been trialling CGNAT instead of doing proper IPv6 investment.
If I had an alternative to FF on Mac and Java, I'd ditch FF for this stunt in a heartbeat.
Try SeaMonkey.

So how did Irn Bru do that snowman spoof then? It used the same melody.
And the rest of the day turned out to be just a [expletive] for the entire iPhone team.
Erm, so what is he saying here? I need to know WHICH expletive to get the sense of the sentence but the morons censored it.

They made a fun computer game from Red Storm Rising too.

Yeah except some really shitty legislation has been rammed through with the Parliament Act. Overall it would probably be better if it didn't exist.

The long run problem here is that natural gas prices are highly volatile.
Never mind that, what about the fact that gas burning outputs CO2? I guess that's so low down on the agenda nobody even mentions it anymore.
Coal is "dirty" so unacceptable but nobody ever seems to say that about NG. How much CO2 does it output compared to coal?
so you can relax unlessyou are among the 1% of GNOME users who just use the GNOME Web browser and nothing else
How can half a user use a web browser?
the United States promised to not be a dick and molest other people's cake as it got passed to the left.
That's one of the weirdest metaphors I've heard.
It got popular because it was debian based and didn't require knowledge of every part of the system to get it up running acceptably
How come Debian didn't get popular, then?
Just reply with a post telling them that if you had mod points, you'd mod them up. It's as good as.

However, it is important that everybody be able to communicate in the same language
FTFY. ;-)
No kidding. I have no doubt this story discussion will be filled with jokes (somewhat understandably), but man that's horrible for his father as well.
It's more amazement than jokes, really. Remote controlled helicopters always blow my mind.
